How about why didn’t the Horry county police do their job. They could have charged him multiple times over but instead they handled it like the San Francisco pd. would. They are just as culpable for allowing this behavior to continue but apparently he is friends with at least one supervisor there and possibly more, probably members of his cult.
While the “Douchebag in Question” (DIQ), JP Miller is clearly partly at fault, AC raises a critical question though they don’t take it far enough.
Mica’s family and friends are quick to call the DIQ out now – where were they for the last year (or four)? Where were her friends? Mica admits to having at least contemplated (if not actually attempted) suicide in one of her sermons in Africa. Surely that video didn’t just come to light. All of the salacious details aside, the suicide is the action of one person – Mica. Suicide is the permanent answer to a temporary problem.
The real tragedy in all this is that all the finger pointing is wasted BS. Consider the difference that channeling all of the effort that’s gone into gossip into actually providing mental health action might have made. It ain’t hard, Ask the question, Care enough to get involved and Take the person to someone qualified to help – you know, ACT!
They did. They tried. They tried to help her, they tried to get help for her. So did his ex- wives. They tried too. So did their friends and families. So did many, many others.
Temporary problem? Nope. You must not be from around here. There is no help. Police don’t help victims, they help their abusers. Knowingly. Willingly. They refuse to help victims, support the abusers as they manipulate, abuse, harass and threaten; day after day after day. Until victims are killed by it or so panicked, living in shock, slowly more and more unable to function, to survive. Until the hollowed out shell of the person they used to be simply cannot go on another day. It’s not a temporary problem. It is an ongoing, Law enforcement sponsored every day living reality. Welcome to Horry County. Whatever you do, don’t call 911. And check the tint on your car.
Absolutely. I was going through horrendous abuse ( still going through) he used every tactic ( to paint me unstable) that he could . Everybody knew .. I was covered in bruises but wasn’t ready and too scared to talk so now he is using it against me with kids. Cops took his side.

That’s what they do. They protect abusers and threaten victims. All the time.
