I respectfully disagree. Harpootlian will manipulate & exert his political power to get a Murdaugh friendly Judge instead of the principled one in place now. What they are doing to Becky Hill is unconscionable & in reality a big nothing burger.

I have to disagree with your position. You are presupposing that the integrity and fair mindedness we all witnessed during the murderers trial will somehow disappear in follow on trials. I would suggest it would be difficult, if not impossible to find a more fair minded, honorable or clear minded judge for the remainder of these cases.
I, too, reluctantly agree – and Judge Newman is my hero! His mastery from the Bench is unparalleled. His demeanor is always perfectly appropriate – from a somber remonstrance during sentencing to a chuckle about eggs. CJ Beatty could not have chosen a more qualified jurist!!
I bet if asked, His Honor would consider for a moment, smile his ‘Mona Lisa’ smile, put a hand to his chin and then agree as well.

1. As you wrote, for the very reason that he is on the record regarding how he thinks and feels about Alex Murdaugh.
2. I do NOT think he had any idea of the scope of Becky Hill’s behind-the-scenes machinations.
If I were Judge Newman, I would NOT say anything and let the clock run out until retirement. We’re only talking about eight weeks.
Guilt beyond reasonable doubt. What part do you not understand? Judge Newman has chastised many convicted. He reached the same conclusion, BASED ON THE PROSECUTION’S EVIDENCE, that AkeX Murderer was GUILTY. You really believe Rebecca Hill would have sabotaged the guilty verdict, let alone her reputation and career, her passion for JUSTICE? You must be one of those idiots sending love letters to AleX Murderer in prison, as he sweats his way to Christmas.
I believe Newman’s comments only demonstrate that he has accepted the verdict reached by an impartial jury after a fair trial. After the trial, it would seem improper to pretend that guilt wasn’t proven beyond a reasonable doubt. That would appear to be a lack of faith in the judicial system.
Judge Newman did a super job during the trial. Personally I feel he should tell these greed given lawyers ‘’Go to Hell and I’m still the Judge’’.
They have no interest in the actual facts of the truth nor do the give a damn about two deaths. It’s all about money and how much more they can make. Politicians and Lawyers have no morals, ethics, truth but they have the ability to lie to win a case regardless of how its done.
The South Carolina “injustice system” now apparently allows a do-over by a defense team that lost the AleX Murderer case. The guilty verdict was based on sound prosecutorial evidence including the kennel video, missing clothing, missing guns, GPS/digital data, AleX’s videotaped lie after lie after lie when talking to the police, and his own F-rated performance on the stand. So now this F-dated defense team decides to pull a rabbit out of a hat and accuse everyone of misconduct, which the defense similarily tried to do during the trial by accusing SLED of incompetence.
Griff, Harpo and Murdaugh are just three of the slime and sludge of the “injustice system” of South Carolina. I hope Rebecca Hil sues their asses off, and those jurors now lying prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
