The year was 2010, after Representative Joe Wilson (T-SC) embarrassed South Carolina when he shouted “You lie” during Obama’s State of the Union address to Congress. I live in Lexington County, a county that is so red, that the Republican primary for county officials is unofficially, the general election. That year, with Wilson running unopposed, that four percent of the vote was write-in.
Sorry Buckaroo, even if all those things happen Republicans will just shriek “SOCIALISTS WOKE GUNGRABBERS HILLARY HUNTER BUD LIGHT TRANS CRITICAL RACE THEORY GROOMERS” and the frightened low information voters will cast their ballot for any jamoke with an -R after their name.
Nice try, though.
Bravo! On the money! As a 76-year-old lifelong Democrat, I can ditto everything you said!
Lol. This is the answer some of the bourbon elite gave post-civil war to work with the republicans. But we’re not really working with republicans, we’re working for SC.
This led to a counter reaction from the more radical bourbon elites known as the straight-outers leading to the “redemption” of the state from republicans and federal control in 1876.
This movement gives us Ben Tillman.
So what that means for our political situation, I have no idea.
I just know I’m bolting the ticket no matter what.
