Great, now we’ll need to spend another million to reconvict Elick after he grifted $10,000,000 from a bunch of innocents in the Low Country. However, I struggle to believe a word of Harmbo’s filing. I (sadly) admit to watching/listening to most of the trial, Elick is guilty and Waters will make that FACT unequivocally clear (again) if he gets a redo.

The defense team failed to overcome the overwhelming evidence from the prosecution, i,e. AleX’s lies and alibis; kennel video placing AleX at the scene at the time of the murders; GPS analytics and timeline; the two missing Murdaugh guns; the missing clothing/shoes of AleX as documented in a video taken earlier that evening by Paul of AleX with a limp tree; the irrefutable crime scene reconstruction by Dr. Kinsey; Marian Proctor’s testimony about AleX’s odd behavior and statements following the murders; the mounting pressures of his financial crimes nearing $9MM; and AleX’s poorly acted, snot-embellished, fake tears testimony out of his own mouth.

I would LOVE it if the State could make the (highly unlikely) re-trial a death penalty case. My mouth to God’s ear for this outcome.
Unbelievable that the Clerk of Court would jinks a trial of this magnitude for a book deal.
Yes, SLED was sloppy on the night of the murders in securing the crime scene by allowing law partners, friends, and family tidy up the Moselle home. But there’s no denying of Paul’s Snapchat video, which is timestamped, of Bubba (one of Paul’s friend’s dog) catching a chicken, that places Murdaugh at the scene of the crime moments before Paul’s and Maggie’s cellphone goes dark for the last time. Plus there was the OnStar data that was retrieved from Murdaugh’s Chevrolet Tahoe which was retrieved by the FBI, with the assistance of General Motors that destroyed Alex’s alibi.
You all will be sadly mistaken. He’s going to get a new trial.
