The only acceptable alternative cause of death of Gloria Satterfield might be Murdaugh himself. I believe the extent of her injuries indicate force. Murdaugh alleges he was already gone from the Moselle property at the time of the incident. He never went to the law office that early. He said so in court (“putzed around the farm in the mornings”). Did anyone check to see what time he arrived at the law firm that day? He made it back to Moselle before EMS arrived (within 10 minutes). Check all of Murdaugh’s real estate. Dead bones never go silent – we just need to listen. I have no doubt, either, that Murdaugh set the fire to his house on Holly Street, but he failed as an arsonist. Murdaugh is capable of anything and everything.
Eric Bland has gone to EXTREME lengths to convince the world that he and his clients (Gloria’s sons) do not believe there was any criminal activity involved in Gloria’s “fall” and subsequent death. Unfortunately, he seems to have succeeded at achieving this goal (assisted to my great disappointment by Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell … and by Will Folks and FITSNews). Anyone who believes Alex’s narrative about his activity that morning (and later in the day, as a matter of fact) is ignoring EVERYHING learned about Alex’s “modus operandi” from his murders of Maggie and Paul.
The only hope I have that Eric’s obstruction of justice (let’s call it EXACTLY what it has been) is ultimately unsuccessful is that the well-respected hosts of “The Interview Room” did one episode discussing with astonishment the details of Gloria’s injuries and how Alex’s “timeline” of his activity was so similar to the way he portrayed his timeline for his locations at time of Paul and Maggie’s murders. Unfortunately, this “Interview Room” investigation has gone cold since that one episode. Both Eric Bland and Ronnie Richter were guests on “The Interview Room” related to the investigation and trial of Alex for Maggie/Paul murders. And I fear after that one episode, Eric intervened with the wonderful hosts of the Interview Room and threw them off the case. Hopefully I am totally wrong. But time will tell.
Additionally, the Interview Room hosts responded to one question I sent them, which was “Can you verify that SLED has an active, open investigation into Gloria’s death?” And the answer to my question was,”Yes, SLED has an open investigation into Satterfield death”.
The reason it is important to prevent Alex “getting away” with Gloria’s murder (which is basically the current situation) is because as anyone with even a pea-brain should be able to deduce, the long game for Alex and his slimeball attorneys is to get his convictions for Maggie and Paul’s murders overturned so he might possibly be released from prison at some point if all his offenses and future convictions are related to financial fraud. Believe me, it is difficult to “get over” on the hosts of “The Interview Room”, so if they ever actually pursue Gloria’s case, justice will eventually be done. It is unfortunate that Eric’s “obstruction” mainly designed to make public think that any “non-insurance-fraud”criminal activity related to Gloria’s “fall” and death could lead to the Satterfield “boys” losing their settlement (which is total BS, by the way). However, it IS possible that if crimes were involved in her fall, Ronnie and Eric might lose some of THEIR whopping fees generated on behalf of Satterfields, etc.
What a mess … so sad because with almost 100% certainty, Alex lured Gloria to Moselle, attacked her (not necessarily intending to kill her), then left Maggie and Paul to set up his story to put the insurance fraud into motion. Whether Maggie and Paul knew what actually happened is relevant ONLY in that once Alex’s historical criminality was revealed to them, they would have been in position to clear up what actually happened the morning of Gloria’s fall. (PS … and DUH ..
what they knew about Gloria’s “death” and the fact that very shortly they would be under oath about EVERYTHING involved in Alex’s criminal life, is one hell of a motive for their elimination.
Thanks for your interest. Hopefully you will continue fighting the good fight.
I just listened to “The Interview Room” You Tube program you reference, exposing Alex Murdaugh for the killer that he is. It’s all there, folks. Everything that comes out Alex Murdaugh’s mouth regarding Gloria Satterfield is identical to the way he responded to interrogations regarding Maggie’s and Paul’s executions. He did it, folks. Alex Murdaugh caused Gloria Satterfield’s death. Maggie and Paul were his LAST, but others came before them. Alex Murdaugh is a psychopath, and is a danger to everyone, even in prison.
You people are full of vitriol and hate. I’m sure a good medical examiner will determine whether it’s murder or accident if SLED is indeed investigating. The only thing I agree with in any of the above comments is that Eric Bland is a piece of work. He is a hypocrite and a grifter. He very well may end up causing the Satterfield family more grief than they have already endured. Callie Lyons, excellent article!
