This is one of the most insane situations I’ve ever heard of – Rutherford & Manning had to know what they did was against the law. And then 2 Supreme Court justices think the guy should just be allowed to stay out despite the mandatory minimum?
All you need to know about SC’s best legislature and judicial system money can and DOES buy leaves a stench from Casey Manning to Reggie Lloyd to Donald Beatty to Nikki Haley (who famously put Lloyd in as chief of SLED). Then Lloyd proceeded to cover the eviDENCE when Diamond Jim Clyburn stole $50 MIL of SC State’s money (i. e. TAXPAYERS’ money) by quaffing it off illegally to his corrupt minority “contractor” cronies. When God said “vengeance is mine-I will repay” this is precisely who (among many others) He was speaking of !!!
Very disappointing Gov. Haley made her share of dubious appointments durung her term, but actually, that most disappointing Gov. Mark Sanford tapped the woefully unqualified and morbidly jejune Judge Reggie Lloyd to be SLED “Director” (as RL demanded to be called a’la JE Hoover). Mark publicly said he did so in large part to inspire children who resembled Reggie. Small wonder SC is in the mess she’s in.
The Captain had to put the dogs on the boy when they got word he was selling crack to Hunter Biden. Is Manning going to have to return the money. I’d say no. Butch got to keep Busters’s law school “tuition up charge”. I’d say Manning gets to keep the cash, everyone knows he took.
This statement by one of the biggest statehouse lawyer/legislator clowns is priceless …………………….. Price’s defense attorney, Todd Rutherford also provided a statement.
“It is good to know Jeroid Price is safe from those outside who seek to do him harm. Now he has to worry about those in government who continue to heap harm on him. While serving in prison, he helped the people of South Carolina — and his reward has been to have his life endangered by people seeking political gain.”
Todd Rutherford
Amidst all the torches and pitchforks out for the defense attorney and judge, there was also the 5th Circuit Solicitor who was part of the deal to release him.

Now let’s see what the judge, the defense attorney and the prosecutor have to say…
