Who do you think as a group have abused more children: drag queens or the church?

It’s fun to listen to the absolute moral outrage of the existence of drag queens by a generation that grew up with M*A*S*H and Looney Tunes. Where’s Drunkle clutching his pearls with drag queen cartoon hour, starring Bugs Bunny?

Drunkle is mad at drag queens because he’s told to – just like Kid Rock – arguably by the largest bunch of militant drag queens that exists in America today – GOP politicians and partisans.

Drunkle’s on to something about money being the root of all evil, probably a great indictment of capitalism and the modern churches. He’s probably dreading the dirty socialist coming back to flip more tables and serve the poor.

Seriously, dressing in drag isn’t that different than the “tough guy” cos-play this dork pretends to be or the “white trash” cos-play that affluenza ridden goofball, Kid Rock, performs.

It’s all any of them ever talk about. Boo hoo, trans people go potty too. Wahhh wahhh, a drag queen reads a book. Oh no, people won’t let me ban books because it talks about minorities or gay people.

They all act like insufferable manchildren. The Jesus card is just their very real narcissism making their obsessions the main issues their religion must combat. If he took the shrink wrap off the Bible and read it he’d probably get upset Jesus didn’t spend half the book going on Rush Limbaugh rants about gays.

As someone who considers himself a flawed devout Christian, I absolutely have not decerned that you are a Christian. I have decerned that you believe yourself to be a follower of Christ, but like so many religious chest thumpers in America today, you seem to know little about what Christ actually taught and seem to like it even less.

Love thy neighbor, blessed are the poor, welcome the stranger, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, help the sick, sell all you have and give to the poor, lay not up your treasures on earth, it is more difficult for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, judge not lest ye be judged, to whom much is given much is expected.

You lack the capacity to judge good and evil because you have evil within you. That is why Christ cautioned against judgment. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god. Christians love and leave judgment to God.

Christ said the love of money is the root of all evil but it is not for the reason you say. Christ tried to warn Christians that you cannot serve two masters, money and God. God said to feed the poor, clothe the naked, and help those in need, but if you love money you will not do those things. It ties to the parable of the rich prince and the camel and the eye of the needle. To whom much is given much is expected. The richer you are the more God expects of you, but the less you are likely to do. You for example will sit back and watch children in other countries die of starvation when you could help, but you do not, because you love money, and luxuries too much. You will call out abortion as evil, but not recognize your own evil of letting poor innocent people die of starvation and disease. How wilt thou say to thy brother, let me pull the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? We feed the hungry, not because they deserve it, but because they are hungry and we care.

I believe there is an evil growing in the Christian world, but it is not from the source you cite. It is from evil leaders teaching Christians false theology. The belief that God rewards the righteous with wealth and comfort and punishes the evil with poverty, is false. The belief it is your job to judge good and evil and rout out evil, is false. God rewards the righteous with more opportunities to serve him. He has already told you, your worldly wealth is likely to keep you out of heaven; and all he asks of his followers is to love all of mankind in his name; welcome the stranger, in his name; feed the hungry, in his name; treat the sick, in his name and help those in need, in his name

And I assure you Christ would never condone your of rising up against your neighbor and killing them because they do not believe as you do. Every time you think, we have got to do something to get those dirty immigrants out of the country reread Matthew 25: 41-46 and ask who is evil.

Thank you, Mark.

I am in total agreement with most of what you say. I too consider myself unworthy of the grace I’ve been offered. I do not, however, use the Bible to disparage others about their failures to take care of of the proverbial widows and orphans, because I don’t know what they’ve done. If you’d like to have a “works” and “giving” contest, I’m all in.

I recall somewhere in the Bible where God created man and woman… and I’m pretty sure Jesus said, ““If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things MUST COME, but woe to the person through whom they come!” (Emphasis mine).

If they MUST COME, when are they? Never, because we’re now acting in accord with God’s will?

I read somewhere– maybe the Bible– that the discernment of spirits is important, to determine whether they are Good or Evil. Did you read that part?

In my opinion, Jesus teachings did not sway to, “Hey, live and let live, man. Whatevs. Everyone should do what is right in their own eyes, as long as they check off these boxes, and do these things. Just be a good dude, Dude.”

Evil is real. Our current path in America reads like a Bible study on Revelation. Do you really believe God smiles when he sees surgeons cutting off the genitals of his children? The burning of cities and the murder of police?

We’ll all get to sit with the Lord and answer for every thought, deed, and sin. If it weren’t for grace, I’d never have a chance.

Proleau,
Every generation for the past 2000 years has believed they were in the end times and that evil was winning. Why believers worry about that is beyond me. If you believe the Bible, you know evil is not going to win. Also, I would say we are in a much more moral Christian-like society today than we have ever been in the history of this Country. So things seem to be getting better, not worse.

There are answers within the teachings of Christ for your questions, but you are not seeing them, and a theological discussion is beyond this place, but you are conflating religion and the rules for running a functional society. Religion deals with the eternal struggle between good and evil and the battle for each soul. Social rules are rules put together by humans with imperfect vision which we can only hope strive to achieve the greatest good for the greatest number. With good being something far below eternal salvation. Social rules protect our civilization, they don’t eliminate evil.

With God’s view you would see that any action or inaction can work for good or evil over time. But you do not have God’s view. You cannot know the result of your actions, so God does not expect you to identify and fight evil. But you are still locked into a view that good and evil in the eyes of God are knowable and we as a society can decern what God considers good and what God considers evil, and can fight to eliminate evil in the eyes of God. The truth is good and evil are relative. We don’t all agree on what is good and what is evil and we certainly cannot agree on what evils society should seek to eliminate by force. For the most part, Christ did teach us to live and let live; and let God judge good and evil. That does not mean we cannot share with others our view of the path to salvation. But we can only light the path, we cannot drag people down the path.

When you start trying to eradicate evil, be prepared for the result. How do we decide what is evil and what evils we should attempt to eradicate? So let’s take the example of something we probably agree is good. Protecting innocent life. Who is more evil, a man who dresses as a woman and reads books to children or a man who buys a $70,000 car when he could buy a lesser car or walk and spend the money to save the lives of thousands of starving children? We can eliminate what I would perceive as the greater evil by making the man walk and save the lives the innocent children. What do you say? Is prioritizing your lifestyle over the lives of innocent children evil? What should we do about it?

Does God smile when Fox News pushes lies on air? When the GOP embraces a known adulterer and liar and serial tax cheat? You’re mighty pick and choose about your Bible. You might be interested to find out what it says about those that do to justify their biases and hatred. But then, you’d have to face some uncomfortable truths about yourself and I’m guessing that’s just too painful for you so back to your gun-toting, animal-killing, women are bad, liberals are the devils, etc. ranting.

Ah, Mr. “I need my emotional support guns to make myself feel like a man” is writing his usual drivel again. Dude, the GOP gave up all claims to having a moral high-ground the minute they nominated Trump to be president. And if you asked Trump to name his favorite verse from the Bible he’d have no idea what you were talking about. This claim to be God’s Own Party by the GOP is an act. It’s fake, like Trump’s perpetual orange tan. Like your own writings (rants) which have little to do with what Christ actually taught and the Bible actually says. No one is trying to encourage children to “switch their gender”. These are hot-button issues invented by the GOP rage machine and their co-defendents over at Fox–you know the one that is currently getting their butts sued off by Dominion. The texts and emails sent by the on-air hosts and management to one another reveal that they didn’t believe the election had been stolen. But they sure as heck pushed that meme on-air to the point that their brainwashed minions believed it. The opposition to drag queens, gays, etc. is all manufactured outrage and you believe every single word because you enjoy being angry and bitter–neither of which is very Christian-like. Really dude, read your Bible. Tune out the hate and division and this country might actually have a bright future ahead. But with this kind of widely-accepted nonsense being pushed by GOP/FauxNews and websites like this one–it’s hard to see the forest for the trees and they decided a long time ago if they could “win” telling lies, they would. The only problem with that is that they’re dragging our nation down with it. Is that the future you want? No, you want to go back to the 1950’s-1960’s (in which billionaires actually paid their taxes and not on the backs of the middle class). Women in their place and all that too, I’m guessing, given your prior rants about that subject too. Try love and kindness. You may be surprised at how much you gain once you give up the hate and white male superiority act.

A guy owning a nice car? Evil?
Is it evil that you haven’t sold all you own and given it to the poor? That you’ve given thought to retirement? That you own more than a tunic, having given away your cloak? In my opinion, no.

The evil is not buying the car, it is letting innocent people die when you could prevent it. That is literarily what Matthew 25: 41-46 says. But hopefully you now understand the difficulty of the Government trying to identify and eliminate what whoever is in power perceives as evil in the eyes of God.

And before I go, I started this discussion off by stating I am a flawed Christian. We all are. Of course, I struggle with how much I should reduce my lifestyle to help others. I also know that will affect my family and their future. If I were single with no children, the struggle would not be as hard. So yes, there is evil in me. All I can do is work to do what I think God expects of me and seek forgiveness when I fall short. Because yes, God is asking you to sacrifice for others.
