In the first of what we anticipate will be several stories regarding federal drug enforcement actions taking place in South Carolina, this news outlet has confirmed that agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) conducted a raid earlier this week at a Columbia, S.C. facility.
Our first tip regarding this enforcement action – which reportedly took place at the Family Medicine Center in Columbia, S.C. – came from a source who reportedly witnessed “at least three pairs of DEA Agents, some on different floors, walking around the facility.”
We confirmed the action through a federal law enforcement source, however as of this writing we have no official information as to the nature of the raid.
The facility in question – located at 3209 Colonial Drive in Columbia – features at least two dozen doctors and operates under the auspices of the Palmetto Health/ USC medical group, which is now a part of Prisma Health.
We have calls out to both the DEA and Prisma Health seeking additional information.
