Letter: A South Carolina Highway Sign Solution

“Bring signage into the digital age …”

RE: JOHN HARDEE PURGE

Dear Editor,

There is a technology solution to infrastructure plaques and signage. Simply bring the signage into the digital age with electronic signage like the ones used for temporary messages on highways.

This way we can quickly (and at no cost to taxpayers) simply erase or change the name of a highway, bridge or intersection in the “rare” case of scandal.

Crawlers like the ones on cable news could also be added where citizens, in real time, could submit their words of appreciation and accolades to thank them for their selfless public service.

Sincerely,

R. Keith Sauls

FROM THE EDITOR …

Ha! I see you are responding with tongue firmly implanted in cheek, Keith. “Appreciation and accolades?”

Well-played, good sir. Well-played indeed.

WANNA SOUND OFF?
