Law clerk reportedly removed from courtroom after computer “flagged …”

A law clerk for a sitting South Carolina circuit court judge was reportedly escorted out of a Palmetto State courtroom this week by law enforcement officers.

According to our sources, the law clerk in question was “on the computer” when the circuit court judge received “a phone call from the chief justice’s office.” During the ensuing conversation, the judge was reportedly told to “escort the clerk out and take the laptop away from (him).”

Judges’ and law clerks’ computers are monitored by court administrators. According to our sources, the clerk’s computer was “flagged” for something.

Whatever it was, it must have been serious because he was immediately “escorted out of the court house by deputies.”
