Two teenagers in Greenwood County, South Carolina have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Abbeville, S.C.
According to a release from the S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), 19-year-old Ta’Zaria Idejah Curry and 18-year-old Daijeanne Lee Hamilton – both of Greenwood, S.C. – were charged with accessory to murder after the fact.
Last week’s shooting took place outside Hickory Heights Apartments on Cambridge Street in Abbeville – a town of approximately 5,000 people located ninety miles west of the state capital of Columbia, S.C.
Three people were killed: 62-year-old Shirley Jean Jones, 26-year-old Steven Tinch and 24-year-old Johntavier Moss. A fourth individual was wounded in the shooting.
Last week, SLED arrested 19-year-old Elijah Ty Rez Head in connection with the shooting – charging him with three counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
According to probable cause affidavits accompanying the warrants for their arrest, both Curry and Hamilton “did render assistance” to Head “knowing that (he) had committed” murder and attempted murder “with the intent of assisting (him) to avoid the consequences of his crime.”

As with anyone accused of committing any crime, Curry and Hamilton are considered innocent until proven guilty by our criminal justice system – or until such time as they may wish to enter a plea in connection with the charges filed against them.
Curry and Hamilton were booked at the Abbeville County detention center. Their cases will be handled by the office of S.C. eighth circuit solicitor David Stumbo.
