In what appears to be the quickest rebound in history, Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel’s season five girlfriend – Ashley Jacobs – went from sobbing on Instagram that she still loved the former politician to appearing out on the town with a new man described by witnesses as looking like a “younger, more muscular Thomas Ravenel with an odd hipster haircut.”
In fact, the younger man reportedly dressed as Ravenel for Halloween one year (although we hope for his sake the similarities don’t run any deeper).
Through our boots on the ground, we are informed Jacobs’ rumored new man is the more age-appropriate Ryan Trout. The 39-year-old former University of Virginia soccer player describes himself on Instagram as “Philly born and raised, UVA Grad and former soccer player, living in Charleston SC.”
He is the marketing manager for his family’s company, according to their website.
Last Thursday, Jacobs and her date were seen “canoodling” at a Charleston bar and restaurant. The website All About The Tea – widely regarded as Ravenel’s de facto publicist – posted that after posting her tearful social media clip, Jacobs seemed quite cozy with Trout as the two pawed on each other.
“On Thursday, Jacobs was spotted in a Charleston lounge from behind – butt grabbing her mystery man, while his arm wrapped around her waist,” the site reported.

What made the evening even more curious, though, was who else was at the restaurant where Jacobs and Trout were drinking.
Southern Charm’s Naomie Olindo and boyfriend Metul Shah were out with another couple – all four seated at a table when Jacobs approached and spoke rudely to the Bravo TV beauty, reportedly using foul language and drawing attention to herself.
Olindo and Shah excused themselves and headed for the high road … ending their evening early.
Anyway, if Jacobs was intending to use Trout to stoke Ravenel’s legendary jealousy … it may have worked.
After scrubbing their accounts of any reference to each other, Ravenel and Jacobs are once again following each other on Instagram – and were spotted out drinking Sunday at around 2:00 p.m. EDT at Home Team BBQ in the West Ashley area of Charleston, S.C.
Some habits are hard to break it seems …

[/timed-content-server]As we find ourselves noting quite often these days, it has been quite the year for Southern Charm – on and off the small screen.
Most of the drama has centered around Ravenel – who recently announced that he would not be returning for the show’s sixth season (although it has also been reported that he was fired). The former South Carolina statewide elected official missed the show’s reunion program last month, citing advice from his attorneys amid an ongoing criminal investigation into allegations of sexual assault.
The 55-year-old playboy has been accused sexually assaulting two women. The first allegations were made (and reinforced) by Florida-based model and real estate agent Ashley Perkins. According to the 29-year-old, she was present for a mediation hearing at the Belmond Charleston Place Hotel in June of 2016 in which Ravenel settled a sexual assault allegation involving her mother, a 53-year-old Florida real estate agent.
Perkins’ story broke exclusively on this news site.
Shortly thereafter, this news site exclusively reported on the Charleston police department’s investigation into another alleged assault involving Ravenel. That same week, guest columnist Amy Feinstein published an exclusive interview with Nanny Dawn – the woman whose meeting with Charleston detectives launched the criminal probe.
