PEGGY ECKSTROM SCHEDULED TO APPEAR BEFORE FREDERICK COUNTY JUDGE AFTER ALLEGED INCIDENT AT LOCAL HOTEL …
The ex-wife of South Carolina comptroller general Richard Eckstrom is the latest member of this dysfunctional political family to wind up in court related to their ongoing, made-for-reality-TV soap opera.
Peggy Eckstrom, 67, of Irmo, South Carolina is scheduled to appear before a judge in the District Court of Maryland for Frederick County this coming Tuesday morning (May 29) at 9:30 a.m. EDT. This hearing will determine whether Eckstrom is to be slapped with a temporary peace order (i.e. restraining order) in the aftermath of an incident that reportedly took place at a hotel in Frederick, Maryland on Saturday.
In the event a temporary peace order is issued against Eckstrom, a final hearing would be held on June 4 to make that order more permanent.
On Saturday evening, a Frederick County commissioner issued an “interim” peace order against Eckstrom after determining there were “reasonable grounds to believe (Eckstrom)” had committed “assault” against Blair Pettrey – and “is likely to commit a prohibited act against (Pettrey) in the future.”
Those determinations were based on a petition filed by Pettrey – as well as yet-to-be-determined “evidence” provided to the court.

We’re told the “evidence” referenced in the commissioner’s interim ruling is part of an ongoing law enforcement investigation into Peggy Eckstrom’s alleged conduct toward Pettrey.
Does that mean charges are forthcoming? Possibly …
If Pettrey’s name sounds familiar, it should. She is the woman at the heart of a caustic 2016 custody battle with her ex-fiancée Brad Eckstrom. The son of Peggy Eckstrom and the family values “Republican” comptroller, the younger Eckstrom had a criminal domestic violence rap against him expunged back in 2014. In that case, the younger Eckstrom was accused of punching, kicking and grabbing Pettrey by the hair – and then dragging her across his mother’s home.
Pettrey was nine weeks pregnant at the time.
We were following the custody case involving Pettrey and Brad Eckstrom closely … at least until Maryland court officials sealed the records. What happened? Well, Brad Eckstrom was seeking custody of his and Pettrey’s daughter despite court documents showing that he had paid virtually nothing toward the care of the infant girl at the time.
Eckstrom’s attorney sought to seal the case files not long after we pointed out that fact.
“We are very concerned about the very public reference to the parties’ daughter in such an over the top publication,” Brad Eckstrom’s attorney wrote at the time, referring to FITSNews.
Right … we’re sure that was the reason.
Speaking of “over the top,” though, let’s not forget the young girl at the heart of this drama is the same child that Richard Eckstrom reportedly accused this website’s founding editor Will Folks of fathering (well … until the paternity test came through, that is). Oh, and until Folks revealed he had never even met Pettrey, thus making it exceedingly difficult for him to have impregnated her (although he is quite prodigious).
But we’re the ones who are “over-the-top?”
That’s rich …

[/timed-content-server]As hard as they appear to be trying, Brad Eckstrom and his mother still have a ways to go to top Richard Eckstrom, whose star-crossed affair with a Midlands-area school teacher produced courtroom battles, police reports, allegations of sexually transmitted diseases, wedding rings for sale on Craigslist and campaign finance abuse charges related to him paying for her travel to the 2012 Republican National Convention.
Oh, and let’s not forget the creepy texts and emails Eckstrom sent to his on-again, off-again lover – which have become the stuff of Palmetto political legend (and not in a good way).
Stay tuned … we will be sure to update our readers on the status of Tuesday’s hearing. And in the meantime, we will be endeavoring to obtain copies of any police reports related to the alleged incident at the hotel which led to these hearings involving Peggy Eckstrom.
