This news site hasn’t compiled any “hot lawyer” lists in awhile, mostly because our founding editor Will Folks has discovered he can’t go to parties without people who didn’t make the list giving him inordinate amounts of grief.
Which of course materially inhibits his ability to gather information (wait, did we just type that?) …
Um, pay no attention to the preceding sentence, people.
Anyway, South Carolina is home to some stunningly gorgeous people. But it’s also home to some stunningly not gorgeous people … many of whom are adept at practicing law (and who think they’re stunningly gorgeous).
It’s time to face facts, though: We can’t all look like Lauren Taylor (hello). Or Konstantine Diamaduros (yummy). Or for that matter Sara Turner … the aesthetically endearing Charleston, S.C. barrister who decided to hang out her own shingle earlier this month.
Turner spent the past six years practicing with McCoy and Stokes, the firm led by state representative (and possible future House judiciary chairman) Peter McCoy.
McCoy called Turner a “valuable asset to the to South Carolina bar,” one who “always conducts herself in a professional and integrity-filled manner.”

“I’m confident she will serve her clients well and continue to be an exceptional member of the bar,” McCoy said in a statement released by Turner’s new firm.
A graduate of the Charleston School of Law (CSOL), Turner is a veteran of magistrate, municipal, general sessions, family and federal court – making more than 400 appearances in criminal defense cases. She currently serves as vice president of the Charleston Lawyers Club.
Turner’s new firm will focus on criminal defense, family law and personal injury cases.
