A pair of officials at a government-run school in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina are the focus of an ongoing investigation by district officials and local law enforcement.
Pam Quick (above), longtime principal at West Florence High School, resigned her post last Friday after it was revealed that Florence School District One board members were conducting an investigation into her and newly hired school softball coach Kevin Jones.
Both Quick and Jones were placed on administrative leave with pay related to the inquiry on February 14, but Quick’s abrupt resignation last week signals an escalation in the matter.

[/timed-content-server]Details are sketchy at this point (and district officials are refusing to comment publicly about the situation), but sources familiar with what happened tell us Jones was the original focus of the inquiry – and that Quick subsequently landed in hot water over alleged efforts to “hamper the investigation.”
What did Jones allegedly do?
It’s not immediately clear, but we’re told district officials have been coordinating their efforts with local law enforcement agencies.
Stay tuned … as soon as we get an update on this situation we’ll be sure to pass it along to our readers.
UPDATE: The latest … more resignations.
