A South Carolina man has been charged in connection with the Halloween 2017 death of his young daughter.

Darryl Quan Travis Damond Wilson, 29, of Chester, S.C. was charged with one count of homicide by child abuse related to the death of his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Khloe Simone Adams, on November 1, 2017.  If convicted, he could face anywhere from twenty years to life in prison.

According to an affidavit accompanying the warrant for Wilson’s arrest, on or about October 31 of last year he “did inflict blunt force trauma to her abdomen causing great bodily injury resulting in her death.”

Chester, S.C. police and emergency response personnel were called to Wilson’s residence on White Oak Street at around 8:20 a.m. EDT on November 1 in response to reports of an “unconscious child.”

Adams was transferred to Chester Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Adams was one of several children living at the home with her father and his girlfriend.  Neighbors and family members say she appeared to be in good health just hours before her death when she went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.

An investigation into Adams’ death was initiated with support from the S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Here’s the warrant …

As with anyone accused of committing any crime, Wilson is presumed innocent until found guilty by a jury of his peers (or until he enters a plea in connection with the case).
