Those who follow him on Facebook or Twitter already know this, but our news site’s founding editor, Will Folks, was hospitalized over the weekend with a 105.4 degree fever. The diagnosis? Pneumonia.
He is headed back to his family sometime this week, although it won’t be an especially joyful homecoming … at least not right away.
Why not? As of this writing his lovely wife and several of their young children are being ravaged by the flu epidemic that’s running rampant across the country this winter.
That’s especially worrisome considering the Folks family – as our regular readers may recall – welcomed its newest addition just one month ago.
Everyone’s thoughts and prayers are sincerely appreciated (especially for the little ones) – just as our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the individuals and families currently in the throes of this most brutal season of sickness. Also, our thanks go out to all of those giving generously of themselves to help those in need.
We will all get through this … together. Because when it comes to stuff like this, the “all in” divisiveness of our nation’s current political climate pretty much melts away, doesn’t it?
That’s the hope, at least.
Anyway, we’ve got literally dozens of stories on tap and can’t wait to get to all of them … but for now we appreciate everyone’s patience (especially the patience of our loyal subscribers).
As we’re fond of saying, “developing …”
