Woman Arrested For Having Sex With Mental Health Patient

Nurse charged with sexual misconduct, abuse …

A South Carolina woman employed as a mental health caregiver by the state has been arrested and charged with criminal sexual misconduct and the abuse of a vulnerable adult.

Kendall Michelle Brooks, 33, of Pendleton, S.C. has been charged with two counts of first degree criminal sexual misconduct and two counts of abuse in connection with the case.

The incident leading to Brooks’ arrest allegedly took place on March 12 in Anderson County, S.C. while Brooks was employed by the S.C. Department of Mental Health (SCDMH) – an agency of governor Henry McMaster’s cabinet.

According to affidavits accompanying warrants for Brooks’ arrest, she had “sexual intercourse and also performed oral sex” on a patient at the Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital in Anderson, S.C.

A staff member at the Upstate facility “witnessed the intercourse” and reported Brooks – who has been a registered nurse for more than a decade.  During an ensuing investigation, police say she admitted “having sexual intercourse twice and oral sex once with the patient.”

Brooks was arrested by agents of the S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Here are the warrants issued for her arrest …
