As this website prepares to enter its subscription phase on September 1, we’re taking steps to spiff things up a bit around here.
We want our readers to have a crisper, cleaner visual experience no matter what device they’re using to consume our content … but we’re especially focused on enhancing the experience for consumers on their smartphones and tablets.
Last November – for the first time in history – more users accessed the world wide web from their phones or tablets (51.3 percent) than from their desktops or notebooks (48.7 percent), according to data released by StatCounter.
This shift has taken place with breathtaking speed, too. Just four years ago only 30 percent of web traffic came from smartphones or tablets. Six years ago it was less than 10 percent.
The world is changing. The web is changing. And we intend to change with it.
In addition to our upgraded look and feel, our founding editor Will Folks has big plans for the future of FITSNews in terms of both its form and functionality.
So stay tuned …
Over the next few weeks we hope you’ll bear with us as we tweak and refine our new design, and please – feel free to offer your feedback to our designers on any technical aspects of the site.
Finally, please help us continue to hold those in power accountable to the people they’re supposed to be serving by subscribing to FITSNews today.
