EX-GAMECOCK “STARS”

Two days after signing a three-year, $3.8 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, former University of South Carolina basketball star Sindarius Thornwell found himself on Live PD – a popular A&E program offering viewers “unfettered and unfiltered live access inside a variety of the country’s busiest police forces.”

The Lancaster, S.C. native was pulled over in his new Porsche on Friday wearing a Clippers shirt – but told the Richland County, S.C. deputy who stopped him he “didn’t have a job.”

“I know you from somewhere,” the officer told the ex-Gamecock star.

Thornwell – who led South Carolina to its first Final Four appearance earlier this year – was reportedly being chased by his girlfriend, who told officers she was kicking him out of the house for attending a party.

Take a look …

“She didn’t hit you or nothing did she?” the officer asked Thornwell.

“No, no,” he responded.

“Cause she was all up on you, trying to keep up with you,” the officer continued.

Drama, drama, drama …

Last season’s SEC Player of the Year, Thornwell finished his South Carolina career with 1,941 points, third best in the history of the program.  He was selected with the 48th pick of this year’s NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks – the first Gamecock chosen in the draft in over a decade.

Milwaukee promptly traded him to the Clippers, though.

Thornwell was no stranger to controversy during his collegiate career.  Last December he was suspended for an undisclosed violation of “athletic department policy.”  It was later revealed he was arrested months earlier for driving with a suspended license (that news broke exclusively on this website).  Shortly thereafter it was revealed he was also charged with simple possession of marijuana related to that incident – during which his Chrysler 300 is alleged to have nearly sideswiped another vehicle.
