MULTIPLE TWISTERS SIGHTED …
A tornado touched down in Saluda County, S.C. on Wednesday afternoon and was “producing damage” on the ground, according to an alert issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Columbia, S.C.

Tornado warnings were issued mid-afternoon Wednesday for five counties located in the Midlands region of South Carolina: Fairfield, Newberry, Richland, Lexington, and Saluda.
The warnings were in place until 3:30 p.m. EDT.
Subsequent warnings were issued for Peak, Pomaria and Prosperity, S.C. – effective until 4:00 p.m. EDT.

According to local officials, a tornado associated with this storm system damaged six houses and downed power lines in the area.
Meanwhile at around 4:00 p.m. EDT, a tornado was spotted moving toward Lancaster, S.C.

We’ve also heard unconfirmed reports of a possible tornado moving through Hartsville, S.C.
