CANDIDATE REFUSES TO APPEAR BEFORE BLACK CAUCUS …

Yesterday, this website ran a story on some interesting developments in a race for a family court judgeship in Newberry County, S.C.  Well, technically the race is for a family court judgeship for the S.C. eight judicial circuit – which includes Abbeville, Greenwood, Laurens and Newberry counties.

We don’t have a dog in this fight, but our story has generated a lot of interest given its racial component.

By way of a follow-up, we have been informed that Newberry attorney Sam Price – the candidate who was accused by multiple sources of soliciting support exclusively from white male legislators – has reportedly now declined an invitation to appear before the S.C. Legislative Black Caucus.

This is one of those times.

Given the nature of the allegations leveled against Price, he probably should have taken the opportunity to address the matter with the caucus – even if the group’s deliberations are little more than a well-orchestrated sham.

Hell, Price could have taken the opportunity to point that out had he wanted to …
