POPULAR DEMOCRATIC SHERIFF ENDORSES GOP LAWMAKER …
S.C. Rep. Kirkman Finlay‘s bid for a third term in the state House of Representatives continues to receive broad, bipartisan support.
We wrote earlier this week on a slew of Democrats endorsing Finlay’s candidacy – much to the chagrin of S.C. Democratic Party (SCDP) chairman Jamie Harrison.
Well, Harrison now has another defection to worry about …
According to our sources, Finlay’s reelection bid has recently received the endorsement of Richland County, S.C. sheriff Leon Lott – arguably the most popular Democrat in the Midlands region of the Palmetto State.
This website has never been part of Lott’s cheering section … but there’s no denying the guy’s popularity and influence in the Midlands.
Which makes this a “big get” for Finlay …
Meanwhile, Lott’s endorsement is yet another disappointment for Tyler Gregg, the Columbia, S.C. attorney who is challenging Finlay in the race for S.C. House District 75 (map).
Seriously … what do you call a standard-bearer with no followers?
Just a guy taking a walk …
