TICKETS STILL ON SALE FOR MULTIPLE SOUTH CAROLINA HOME GAMES …

The University of South Carolina is looking to unload tickets to multiple home football games …

According to the school’s athletics department, tickets are available for home games against East Carolina on September 17 ($45 apiece), Texas A&M on October 1 ($90 apiece), UMass on October 22 ($35 apiece), No. 9 Tennessee on October 29 ($80 apiece), Missouri on November 5 ($65 apiece) and Western Carolina on November 12 ($35 apiece).

The school is also touting a “Tailgate Pack” for the Texas A&M game which offers four tickets, a parking pass and four food vouchers (good for a hot dog and a medium drink) for $360.

Tickets to October 8’s home game against Georgia remain “on sale exclusively for Gamecock Club members,” although the school claims “a limited number of season tickets (which would include all seven home games) are still available.”

Oh, and if you decide to shell out your hard-earned on any of these games, remember the school’s new “clear bag policy.”

South Carolina finished the 2015 season with an abysmal 3-9 record – a rapid fall from the program’s brief stay (2011-13) in the upper echelon of the college football world.   The Gamecocks (0-0, 0-0 SEC) open their 2016 schedule this Thursday on the road in Nashville, Tennessee against SEC East rival Vanderbilt.

That game will kick off at 8:00 p.m. EDT – with ESPN providing national coverage.

According to NCAA stats, South Carolina ranked No. 16 nationally in attendance last year – averaging 78,822 fans per home football game.  That mark was well below 2014’s average of 81,381 fans – or 2013’s average of 82,401.
