FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHT TO BARE BREASTS …
This coming Sunday, August 28 is “Go Topless Day” in the United States.
And no … we’re not making this up in the hopes of catching an eyeful of booby over the weekend, this is actually a thing. And not just this year, but every year.
According to the website GoTopless.org, this decidedly pro-liberty demonstration/ celebration always falls on “the Sunday closest to Women’s Equality Day,” which is the day the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified way back in 1920.
“It is only logical that GoTopless Day protests (or celebrations depending on the legal status of your city) would fall around Women’s Equality Day since the right to go topless for women is based on gender equality as their right to vote once was,” holiday organizers noted.
Hard to argue that point …
Also, if we’re going to live in a world in which men can use the ladies’ room – how are we going to tell women they can’t bare their breasts in public?
Obviously our prurience outweighs our principles on this particular issue … but the question still stands: Should government impose anti-topless laws against women that are not imposed against men?
Even though many men in our morbidly obese culture boast bigger breasts than their female counterparts?
Hmmm ….
