CLEMSON DONOR GROUP BOASTS RECORD HAUL …
Clemson University’s athletic department donor program – IPTAY – raised a record $56.6 million during the 2015-16 year, the organization’s CEO David Babb announced this week.
Of that total, $13.32 million went directly to Clemson University – including nearly $11 million in scholarships.
In addition to annual fund donations, IPTAY’s haul included $19 million in major gifts, $4.3 million in premium seating and $4.2 million in planned giving.
All told, IPTAY’s record-setting fundraising is up fourteen percent from the previous year.
That’s not surprising.
Clemson’s football program is on a roll – narrowly losing last season’s national championship game to Alabama and entering the 2016 campaign as the No. 2 team in the nation. The Tigers have also been cleaning up in recruiting – thanks to a capable assist from S.C. governor Nikki Haley, a Clemson graduate and the school’s self-proclaimed No. 1 fan.
IPTAY – which stands for “I Pay Ten A Year” – was established in 1934.
