ANY TAKERS?
Conservative website TruePundit is offering a $1 million reward for the “true medical records” of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton – the latest chapter in the ongoing saga of Clinton’s health.
“We have assembled a group of Patriots who have decided to go to the wall for the future of the United States by personally guaranteeing this reward,” website publisher Thomas Paine said. “This is a historic day, hearkening to the 1770s when Patriots pledged their wealth to ensure the freedoms of this country. This is a substantial amount of money which reflects the stakes today are just as high as they were in the birth years of this country.”
Indeed … although the stakes would obviously be high for anyone improperly obtaining or releasing such records, too. It’s against the law to steal people’s private medical records and release them to the public (as it should be).
Nonetheless, this issue clearly isn’t going away.
Rumors about the 69-year-old’s health – stoked by apparent seizures on the campaign trail – have recently been “seized” upon by GOP nominee Donald Trump.
In a recent national security speech, Trump claimed Clinton “lacks the mental and physical stamina” to confront America’s enemies – notably the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Trump also mocked Clinton’s “short speeches.”
“They’re like 10 minutes and let’s get out of here, go back home and go to sleep,” he said.
Clinton’s campaign pushed back – claiming that Trump was “parroting lies.”
“It is dismaying to see the Republican nominee for president push deranged conspiracy theories in a foreign policy speech,” Clinton’s spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri said in a statement.
The mainstream media has Clinton’s back, too, with reporter Susan Milligan of U.S. News and World Report describing the concerns being raised as “a somewhat stealth campaign to disqualify Clinton for the job by calling into question whether she can actually do the day-to-day job.”
The theories may not be quite so deranged, though …
Three-and-a-half years ago, CNN reported that Clinton was treated with blood thinners to dissolve a clot between her brain and skull behind her right ear. That treatment followed a December 2012 concussion that Clinton sustained after she became dehydrated and fainted.
Doctors said at the time that Clinton was expected to make a full recovery from the blood clot – and Bardack’s 2015 report to the media suggested she did.
However, there’s no way to independently verify Bardack’s assessment – and broader questions about Clinton’s trustworthiness make it reasonable to assume she’s not above lying about her health.
As we noted in our previous coverage of Clinton’s health issues, they do not constitute our biggest worry about the Democratic nominee.
We’re far more concerned about her unchecked liberalism, overt corruption, crony capitalism, neoconservative warmongering, criminal negligence and shady financial dealings.
