GOP NOMINEE BREATHING EASY NOW …

For reasons surpassing understanding, reporter Andy Shain of The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier saw fit to inform his readers this week that embattled Palmetto attorney general Alan Wilson is sticking with GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Hold up … was Wilson ever “with Trump” to begin with?

We must have missed that.  Didn’t his political cronies go “all in” for the failed candidacy of former Florida governor Jeb Bush?

Yes … they did.

Anyway, Wilson is not only aboard the “Trump Train,” he’s offering the Donald some of his sage political wisdom.

“Sometimes it seems that the campaign gets off track and when he gets on track, he seems to gets traction,” Wilson told Shain.

So to recap: “Off track = loss of traction, On track = gaining traction.”  Wow.  That’s some Carville-esque insight right there, people.

Of course if anybody knows about going “off track,” it’s Alan Wilson.

South Carolina Democrats have been pressing “Republican” leaders in the Palmetto State to disavow Trump in the aftermath of some of his recent brain farts.

So far, none are taking the bait …

S.C. lieutenant governor Henry McMaster – Trump’s biggest establishment backer in the “First in the South” presidential primary – made clear he was sticking with “the Donald.”  Even governor Nikki Haley – one of Trump’s most aggressive critics during the primary – refused to jump ship.
