COMMON SENSE REFORM REJECTED
Sad … but not surprising.
Those are our views on the “Republican” party’s decision to continue criminalizing medical marijuana.
Why “sad?” Because legalizing medical marijuana would result in all sorts of benefits … not only to people in need (here and here), but to taxpayers as well.
Why “not surprising?” Because the GOP has been waging war against pot for years.
Anyway, “Republican” opposition to this common sense reform is once again part of the party’s official platform after Maine lawmaker Eric Brakey‘s bid to strike this nonsensical prohibition was defeated on a voice vote.
How transparent, right?
Despite the GOP’s latest display of recalcitrance, this website will continue to advocate for the decriminalization of medical and recreational use of marijuana (and other drugs).
The good news? The public is on board.
Also, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has been an outspoken critic of America’s failed (and costly) “War on Drugs.”
“If you want the candidate with the highest probability of ensuring marijuana will be legal across the country, Donald Trump is your best option,” the website Merry Jane recently noted, adding that Trump’s “pro-marijuana stance surpasses that of any other candidate in the field.”
Democrat or “Republican.”
