ALLEGED BAR FIGHT, DOMESTIC INCIDENT REPORTEDLY UNDER INVESTIGATION
Palmetto State law enforcement officers in multiple jurisdictions are investigating an alleged incident involving a Laurens, S.C. police captain, sources familiar with the situation tell FITS.
The alleged incident was a bar fight that later turned into a “domestic dispute.” It involved Laurens police captain Scott Satterfield, and is said to have taken place late last month Horry County.
Satterfield and several other members of the Laurens, S.C. police department traveled to the “Dirty Myrtle” in late June with their wives.
A law enforcement source in Horry County – which has jurisdiction over the investigation – confirmed there was an inquiry underway but declined to discuss the specifics of the case.
“You can FOIA the 911 call like the rest of them,” the source said, referring to an emergency dispatch recording that has reportedly been requested by multiple media outlets.
Sources in Laurens tell us the incident stemmed from a dispute at a bar, and that officials in Laurens are contemplating suspending the veteran captain (with pay) pending the outcome of the investigation.
There is also allegedly a “domestic component” to the situation involving Satterfield’s wife, Amy Satterfield.
