ANOTHER ONE FOR THE “DUMBED DOWN” FILE …
A leading homeschool website is mocking the state of South Carolina’s government-run grading scale.
In a post on The HomeScholar, the Palmetto State’s grade point conversion chart is slammed as being “wacky.”

“Isn’t an ‘A’ worth a 4.0 anymore?” the site asked. “Maybe it is in your neighborhood … but not in South Carolina.”
Ha!
This website has written previously regarding the Palmetto State’s “dumbed down” academic standards. We’ve also written on how the state’s obsessive focus on “teaching for tests” keep children from real learning.
More importantly, we’ve exposed the chronic failure of dumping more money into our “one size fits none” government system.
Anyway … grade inflation may help the Palmetto State keep up appearances within its borders, but that’s bout it.
“Nobody is fooled – least of all colleges,” the HomeScholar post concluded. “They look at inflated grades and know what they need to do. First, they deflate all grades. Then they see how smart these kids REALLY are.”
