SENATOR BACKS CANDIDATE FOR ELEVENTH CIRCUIT SOLICITOR’S OFFICE …
S.C. Senator Greg Hembree has endorsed the candidacy of former prosecutor Candice Lively to be the next solicitor for the state’s eleventh judicial circuit.
Lively is running against a pair of insiders – establishment favorite Rick Hubbard and Larry Wedekind. Last we heard her outsider candidacy was gaining traction, too.
Both Hubbard and Wedekind previously worked for disgraced eleventh circuit solicitor Donnie Myers, who announced his intention to resign at the end of his current term following his latest alcohol-related misadventure. Of course Myers’ love of the bottle wasn’t our problem with him – it was his proximity to the so-called “Lexington Ring,” a cabal of crooked cops and corrupt politicians who allegedly operated all sorts of shady black market businesses in Lexington County.
Don’t get us wrong: We’ve got nothing against the black market – we just can’t abide by politicians and police who avail themselves of it on the one hand while passing/ enforcing laws against it on the other.
Anyway, here’s Hembree’s endorsement of Lively …
