FALSIFIED RECORDS, BLOW JOBS, STALKING … 

One of the five candidates running for sheriff of Greenville County, S.C. is the subject of a 488-page document dump – a massive release of information detailing a host of issues regarding his previous employment at the Greenville County sheriff’s office.

Seriously … we’re talking more than thirty megabytes of material, people.  None of it especially good for its subject, “Republican” sheriff’s candidate Sam Manley.

For starters, Manley was fired twice from the agency he now wants to lead – both times by one of his GOP primary opponents, incumbent sheriff Steve Loftis (who is seeking his fourth four-year term).

In 2009, Manley was terminated from his position for knowingly falsifying a document.  Here’s that write-up …

Manley was later re-hired, but then fired again in 2012 for three reasons – making a “false entry on a report,” “unprofessional behavior” and “conduct unbecoming a Sheriff’s Deputy.”

According to the documents we obtained, Manley lost his job the second time around after he was busted falsifying time cards at a place of secondary employment – an apartment complex in Greenville.  Manley initially denied falsifying the time cards – but police had placed a tracking device on his vehicle.

Confronted with this information, Manley admitted his guilt and explained to deputies that he “needed the money.”

Manley apparently has other needs, too.

One exceedingly damning supplemental report included a reference to the veteran police officer receiving a blow job from a woman who was not his wife while on duty.

Manley’s file is also loaded with allegations of sexual harassment, including some pretty serious stalker action …

Could all of this be a vendetta against this one officer?

Eh … we could see that as being a possible explanation, except Manley admitted to everything that was alleged against him.

Moreover, in a statement provided to his superiors prior to his second firing Manley acknowledged he had been “given a second chance at working for Sheriff Loftis” but that he had not “lived up to the standard the he would want me to meet.”

Hardly a ringing endorsement of his candidacy.

“My wife and I have been going through several types of marital problems from financial problems to sexual problems,” he wrote by way of explanation. “My wife and family are not too (sic) blame for my conduct and again I’m not using them as excuses to why I have made mistakes in my professional and private life.”

Manley also related to investigators that his mother was receiving treatments for cancer and his father had recently been arrested.

Yeah … we get it, man.  That’s terrible.  But using taxpayer time and resources to receive blow jobs and stalk women is not the answer.

In addition to Manley and Loftis, three other candidates are seeking the GOP sheriff’s nomination in Greenville County: Hobart Lewis, Will Lewis and Bruce Cannon.

Hobart Lewis is a law enforcement officer from Greer, S.C., while Will Lewis is a private investigator.  Cannon is a security official for Michelin, the French tire manufacturer which has its North American headquarters located in Greenville.
