Duncan’s status as a possible 2018 gubernatorial contender is no secret. It’s been discussed for nearly a year.
Conventional wisdom holds that Duncan won’t run … owing to the safety of his seat, his wife’s rumored reservations and the fact the third congressional district doesn’t provide as deep a political/ financial base as other Palmetto State districts.
Still, were he to run Duncan would obviously be among the frontrunners in the race … especially given the recent implosion of S.C. attorney general Alan Wilson.
