University of South Carolina head football coach Will Muschamp‘s “Boom Bus” appears to have encountered some mechanical difficulties on its maiden voyage across the Palmetto State.
Take a look at this image from the website Tiger Illustrated, which features chatrooms for fans loyal to the Clemson University (South Carolina’s arch-rival).

No immediate word on the status of the much-ballyhooed vehicle, but here’s hoping there was no “boom” or other boding of bad tidings for the Gamecocks’ upcoming football season …
Two years removed from a No. 4 national ranking, South Carolina finished the 2015 season with an embarrassing 3-9 mark – and lost legendary head coach Steve Spurrier to retirement midway through the season. Muschamp wasn’t the first choice to replace Spurrier, but the former Florida head coach has done a commendable job assembling a quality staff and staving off what could have easily been a recruiting disaster.
Again, let’s hope this isn’t an omen …
UPDATE: Good news, Gamecock fans. The “Boom Bus” is just fine. We’re reliably informed by school officials that the owner of the vehicle keeps it at his dealership in Florence, S.C. when it is not on the road. We repeat: The “Boom Bus” is all good under the hood.
