OHIO GOVERNOR LECTURES JEWS ON JOSEPH, LAMPPOSTS AND THE “BLOOD OF THE LAMB”
This website has no beef (kosher or otherwise) with Jews. We admire the devotion they display toward their faith and we respect their contributions to the world in which we live.
We also have no problem with the state of Israel … we just think it should pay for its own wars.
Anyway …
Our “live and let live” philosophy regarding the Jews differs dramatically from the absolutely fealty to Israel commanded by the “Republican” establishment – particularly the warmongering neoconservatives who make billions of dollars arming the Israeli military.
Seriously … Bibi Netanyahu says jump, “Republicans” in Congress ask “how high.” And don’t dare “second guess” how he spends your money … he gets angry.
Attempting to pander to the Jewish vote in advance of this week’s New York “Republican” primary? Ohio governor John Kasich. Because he’s basically a Democrat, Kasich accompanied liberal Jewish strategist Ezra Friedlander to Brooklyn, New York last week – where he (painfully) attempted to pander to the locals.

“It’s a wonderful, wonderful holiday for our friends in the Jewish community,” Kasich said of the passover feast. “It’s a great link between the blood that was put above the lamppost, the blood of the lamb – as Jesus Christ is known as the lamb of God. It’s his blood – we believe – that saves all of us.”
Umm … what? The lamppost?
Preach on, Medicaid Jesus. Preach on. Spread that liberal “Republican” gospel …
So … how was Kasich’s visit received?
According to the Jewish Insider, Friedlander said he felt Kasich’s impromptu sermon on passover was “indicative of his sincere commitment to embrace our community.”
Um … it’s indicative of something.
Not everyone was as forgiving …
“For a politician, this is roughly equivalent to biting a baby when you were supposed to kiss it,” wrote Raphael Magarik for Forward. “I think it is safe to say that, if you want to pander to a religious niche-group, it would be better to refrain from lecturing them on their own scripture and invoking the messiah they reject.”
Jews represent just two percent of the U.S. population, however 90 percent of them are registered to vote. According to a 2013 Pew Center study, 70 percent of Jews vote Democratic – but 57 percent of Orthodox Jews voted (or leaned) “Republican.”
