n charleytown’s always been rough . chas. not what it used to be. To many people from off have migrated to the area and ruined it. Infrastructure cant handle all the gypsies flocking to the area. sad dude sad

Well when you look back, downtown is flurishing, but it always did since the late 80s. The problem is the lose of jobs in N Chas because the reduced Navy facilities. And Volvo won’t help much, since most employees to Volvo will be Summerville, etc. The problem with N Chas is it’s a shithole. Was the 60s to 80s urban sprawl that was pushed back up the penile shaped geography. Was better in the late 80s and early 90s when there were at least less drug dealers and crap. Until there’s a viable rail transfer station near the port facilities, that will attract the warehouses / logistics companies, it won’t get any better.

There’s some beautiful old homes on that naval base just going to waste . gorgeous interior woodwork layin to waste because the rooves are leaking . Not a big advocate of the homeless , but seems like they could repurpose these homes somehow . but then again thats gonna take some cheddar

I’m glad to see bond was denied the little thug who fired on cars on I-20, striking one driver in Lexington County. I hope they throw away the key on that one.

I have to give LCSD credit, they did very good in catching the little shit as soon as they did!

When I lived in North Charleston from 1965-1968, it was an open cesspool. Been back to Charleston on a few overnight trips, and it seems to have improved since the Sixties.
