ATTORNEY GENERAL CLAIMED HIS OFFICE WAS “NOT EQUIPPED” FOR SUCH PROBES
Two years ago, S.C. attorney general Alan Wilson refused to investigate allegations of prosecutorial misconduct involving one of the state’s sixteen solicitors – referring the matter to the S.C. Supreme Court’s office of disciplinary counsel.
“The attorney general’s office is not equipped with the resources to conduct these types of investigations,” Wilson wrote in a letter to the president of a defense attorney’s organization at the time.
Hmmm … that’s a pretty curious position to have taken considering the vendetta Wilson’s office has launched over the past forty-eight hours.
Wilson is attempting to shut down S.C. first circuit solicitor David Pascoe‘s investigation of corruption at the S.C. State House – even though Pascoe’s request for grand jury proceedings has been endorsed by a judge and by the head of the S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
In fact Wilson removed Pascoe from the case and attempted to replace him with another solicitor – who refused the invitation. Wilson repeatedly referred to Pascoe and his investigation as “tainted” during an angry press conference this week, but offered no evidence to support his contention other than unsubstantiated allegations that Pascoe had leaked information to the media … something Wilson’s own office has done in the past.
Our view? Pascoe’s investigation has clearly hit upon something exceedingly worrisome to Wilson … hence his transparent effort to obstruct and sabotage the probe.

After this is all said and done Wilson will be lucky if he can litigate himself out of a wet paper bag.
Can a possum escape from a wet paper bag?
I dunno Shifty, but they sure have a rough time trying to cross roads
Just like Haley and Rubio…done. And the ironic thing is that they all did it to themselves.
Alan rebutted on Thursday…well at least my pappy Joe was in
the know and wasn’t found to be lying
You know—he didn’t stab SC conservatives by sticking his
head up RINOs Boehner and Paul Ryan
And at least he said Hell no we won’t rip down the flag of patriots
by NOT letting YOU get to vote
And he didn’t give the most incompetent presiDENT in history
fast-track and try to make you a goat
Yep…he and mammy refused that taxpayer-PAID vacation to
Hawaii—their most modest move to date
And of course we KNOW you’ll be slow and reelect Joe and me
the next chance you get…NO…WAIT !!!
That shit is weak, and it’s getting tiresome.
This does not have diddly shit to do with the rebel flag, Obama, Boener, Ryan, or any of those people. But do rant on, poetically. It’s mildly amusing.
buzz thought outing RINOs was “tiresome” until 19 TRILLION in debt sealed his fate
Then Buzz lost his Obama phone-then his SNAP–and, homeless, his…Section 8 !!!
He’s not homeless.He lives with me!I’m suing!
FITS is right about the weak possition The Nerve is taking.
It has criticized Haley over the timing of the removal of Washington from office. It was critical of Leatherman about giving IBM a no bid contract. The Nerve named several legislators who were introducing bills that would benefit theirs or their families business interest.
The Nerve is not critical of Wilson. The Nerve has Disqus.

I commented on there earlier, to the effect that for the first time since I started reading their blog I’m deeply disappointed in the them, over their obvious bias in favor of Wilson.
What is ‘The Nerve’? Format looks the same as FitsNews.
I believe there is a possibility that Wilson admitted to a crime during his press conference. He admitted investigating a member of the press for actions that are not illegal or unethical.
Wilson said that he investigated how John Monk obtained knowledge of the court filing. Even if Wilson was investigating his office or the Prosecutor leaks, this leak of public information would not be illegal or unethical.
My favorite comment he made to Barry of wltx,
….i dont know what Pascoe has discovered and i dont care what hes discovered, ….
…seems to me that last part says it all.
I think Alan Wilson is protesting too much. Why won’t he let Pascoe go ahead and have a Grand Jury investigation????? What’s wrong with that? Let the truth out and be free!
Wilson needs a refresher course in civil law, especially in regard to issues like defamation. He is calling Pascoe a liar and calling him incompetent. Pascoe’s restraint so far is admirable, but I wonder if he would file suit against Wilson. Probably not, but that would be fun as hell to watch.
Wilson is confident Jean Toal’s openly corrupt Office of Disciplinary Counsel – that curiously, Costa Pleicones has not yet replaced – will not do anything to him regardless of what he does. We girls at the State House hear and see a lot. Toal had Harrell and Horne buy her last election. This should not have been a complicated investigation at all – but for all of the cover-ups.
I love seeing the tainted scion of Lyin’ Joe publicly destroying his shot at SC governor.
Hand the fool more rope!
