UMMMM …
We’ve long known South Carolina’s government-run school system was an increasingly costly disaster … but it’s pretty sad when the state’s candidates for elected office can’t even spell.
Take Yvonne McBride, who is running for a seat on Richland County (S.C.) council. On her official “statement of intention of candidacy” (and party pledge) filed this week, McBride refers to herself as a “Democrate.”
Not once, but twice.
Take a look …
“It’s a great day in South Carolina,” people.
Just not for spelling …

Well either McBride or the Richland Election Commission changed it to read correctly. What a bummer I could have used a laugh this morning.
changed it to read correctly —
“white-out?”
I’m still trying to figure out the crate.
‘Yvonne’? Is she black or white? :)
Does it matter? Not being able to spell correctly is not confined to any race. However, being a dumbass, racist, redneck douchbag is.
Richland county Democrat. You do the math.
McBride, McBride, where have I read that name before ?
She’s the one about to go down with Darryl Jackson and Rick Quinn–they stole votes for the penny tax fraud and awarded all kinds of contracts to their consulting firms. Her days of freedom are numbered.
I’ll bet she likes to eat skrimp also.
and make samwiches
I can’t spell it, but I be one.
Just what Richland County needs, another damn McBribe in office!
potatoe anyone?
“We’ve long known South Carolina’s government-run school system was an increasingly costly disaster..”
Actually, in Richland County , she is probably among the “better” educated.
You should read job applications from some State University grads….
What’s the big deel abut spellin?
true
The PAST, the PRESENT and the FUTURE walked into a bar. It was tense.
Hilarious! These are your best posts ever. I only wish that I didn’t have food in my mouth when I read them.
— and there’s more!
Before I found this site, at one time I was somewhat of a dedicated copy editor.
Unfortunately, when I saw typos I became [sic].
My editor once criticized my article. He said that double negatives were a “no-no.”
We writers are sometimes deep thinkers. For example, if pencils came with erasers at both ends, what would be the point?
The National Poetry Contest had come down to semi-finals between a Yale graduate and a redneck from Clemson. They were both given a word, then allowed two minutes to study the word and come up with a poem that contained the word. The word they were given was “Timbuktu”
First to recite his poem was the Yale graduate. He confidently stepped to the
microphone and said:
“Slowly across the desert sand
Trekked a lonely caravan
Men on camels, two by two
Destination: Timbuktu.”
The crowd went crazy. No way could the redneck top this, they thought.
The redneck, with sweat rolled down his face, made his way to the microphone
and said:
“A friend and I a hunting went,
We spied three maidens in a tent,
They being three, we being two,
I bucked one and Tim bucked two.”
The redneck went to the finals.
“african american vernacular english” is a thing…….literally. It is against the rules for teachers to deduct grade points for black folks using it, or for spelling words in accordance to “cultural norms” associated with AAVE. The only place in school they can bust them up for spelling is in spelling class.
White peeple want justiss now!
Edit:
“It’s a grate day in South Carolina,”
:)
“If you think they’re bad, you should see their constituents.”
What the fuck? How fucking embarrassing. You can’t make this shit up! A real dumbass.
Yaah…I be a Democrate and I think it be great just like my equally incompetent sister Lillian don’tcha know
All us sisters and brothers be in charge here now and dat be means down is the only way we gonna go !!!
Clearly a graduate of the school of ebonics. Don’t be shocked people, this is what they are voting for in this country.
