LEARN HOW TO FILE FOR ELECTED OFFICE, LAUNCH YOUR CAMPAIGN …
The South Carolina Voters Association is hosting a “Candidate’s Information Session” this week to provide individuals interested in running for political office with the details they will need “to launch and maintain a campaign that is compliant with all South Carolina campaign finance and ethics laws.”
Is this important? Um … yeah. Remember the 2012 “Ballot-maggedon” fiasco?
We do … we broke the story.
This is definitely “need to know” information …
The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. EDT on Monday, March 21 (a.k.a. today) at the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce (930 Richland Street) in downtown Columbia, S.C. Speakers will include Michael Burchstead from the S.C. State Ethics Commission (SCSEC), representatives from all Palmetto State political parties and “seasoned political consultants who can provide insight into how to run a winning campaign.”
Also attending? This website’s founding editor, Will Folks, who will address candidates on how they should best interact with the new media.
“All candidates running for public office in 2016, anyone who may be considering a future run and all those interested in the multitude of other ways to participate in the political process are invited to this information session,” organizers told us.

Earlier this year, columnist Emily Conrad published an excellent piece on our website regarding the need for more competitive elections in the Palmetto State – which of course starts with more people running for office.
This event represents a wonderful opportunity for individuals looking to take that first step to learn more about the nuts and bolts of the process …

“Are you thinking about running for office?”
Never have, never will. I like being able to sleep at night.
Your membership and fervent support of NAMBLA would disqualify your sick twisted, pedophile ass from ever holding elective office, you fucking shitstain.
LMAO!!!
When running for office.
Step 1: Have a lot of money you want to throw away, or get it from crooks willing to give it to you.
Step 2: If you accept crooks money. Be willing to sell out your friends, family, & America for crooks money to keep you in office.
Step 3: Repeat.
Step 1: Get that R by your name
Bingo!
Without that,unless you’re running in a minority majority county or district,you don’t have a prayer .
Oh and be sure to call yourself a “conservative.”Doesn’t matter what you believe.Hell, most people who call themselves”conservative! Do it just because they think it sounds good.In SC , as been shown, it’s sort of a meaningless moniker, but if you dont(and even if you do sometimes ), You’ll be labelled a liberal and then you’ve had it.
And beware ,you can be called a”liberal” just because you disagree with a “conservative” on one issue!
Good luck and may the elephant dung be with you!
Unfortunately, oh so true.
The Democratic crooks have no power in SC.
Yeh only the Republican ones do!
“RINSE” is not required between cycles,
Folks’ contribution distilled – “Pay me and I’ll write anything you want. Thanks for coming.”
Or the flip-side — please never mention my name!
The last time Folk’s was invited to one of these meetings, they canceled the event.
Will there be a separate room where one can ask God whether he/she should run for office?
The Ethics Commission, political parties, political consultants, and Will Folks, the media consultant, add a couple of buckets of bullshit and truckloads of money, and throw in the candidate’s disposable moral values, and you have the ingredients for a good election season in SC.
