WALTER BLOCK FORMS “LIBERTARIANS FOR TRUMP”
This website has savored every moment of the ongoing upheaval of the corrupt, self-serving, taxpayer-betraying “Republican” party … but we’ve been less-than-impressed with the libertarian credentials of the man leading the GOP’s populist uprising.
Don’t get us wrong: We love Donald Trump‘s blunt indictment of the GOP status quo. In fact we loved it enough to endorse his 2016 primary bid. However we’ve been miffed in recent weeks by his positions on first and fourth amendment issues.
That’s his “missing gear,” in our opinion.
Odd, then, that Trump would receive the backing of prominent libertarian Walter Block this week. In fact Block – an Austrian School economist currently on faculty at the University of Loyola – is forming a “Libertarians for Trump” organization in the hopes of rallying former supporters of Ron Paul to The Donald’s banner.
As one of those Ron Paul supporters (read our endorsement of his 2012 GOP bid here), we found the formation of this group a very interesting development to say the least …
Claiming “the perfect is the enemy of the good,” Block is urging his supporters to back “the candidate who has a reasonable chance of actually becoming President of the United States whose views are CLOSEST to libertarianism.”
“We readily concede Donald Trump is no Ron Paul on foreign policy or anything else for that matter,” Block wrote. “However, compared to his Republican alternatives, the Donald stands head and shoulders above them.”
Block is referring to Trump’s criticism of America’s failed “War on Terror” – which wound up costing $4-6 trillion (and 6,876 U.S. soldiers’ lives) and succeeded only in creating a bigger, angrier, more radical Islamic enemy. He’s also referring to Trump’s refusal to get into a pissing match with Russia over the battle for Ukraine.
We’re with Trump on both of those counts …
Hopefully, Trump will figure out the right position on first and fourth amendment issues (he’s certainly already got the right second amendment position).
If he can do that – and remain consistent in his opposition to the warmongering “neo-conservative” establishment – we could see Trump being a wholly acceptable alternative to the full spectrum of libertarian voters.

I case you needed any more proof that self-professed Libertarians are totally confused nitwits.
Libertarians are nothing more than pissed off Republicans who have various and sundry grievances against the GOP.(see Fits)
Their adherence to so called libertarian ” principles?”
Meaningless blather ,as evidenced by this “endorsement” of a man that doesn’t particularly even pretend to have “libertarian” leanings.
Libertarians are the worst of the Republican rabble, sanctimoniously claiming to stand on” principle,” except when they don’t of course.
Libertarians were born on third base and think they hit a triple.
Walter Block, AKA this guy: http://i.imgur.com/cL32Eep.png
Figures you would cite a NAMBLA related ad, you piece of shit pedophile….You butt fuck me on a daily basis for free. That’s not very libertarian not you!
LMAO!!!
Another self-loathing Libertarian.
Walter Block is a “big” endorsement? Hahahaha, you’re so clueless.
You evidently missed the impact Ron Paul had on the body politic. And others who appreciate freedom.
Block isn’t Paul, and Paul opposes Trump.
I never said they were the same thing or believe the same thing, but then Block isn’t Trump either. So what? An apple is not an orange, a raspberry is not an orange, therefore an apple is a raspberry?
Right, Aristotle.
I hope Walter brings Trump some new voters-

EXIT POLL: If the race is Trump v. Clinton in Nov., 37% of GOP primary voters say they’ll consider a third party.
This endorsement should be no more welcomed by Trump than David Dukes.

Block is one of the Mises Institute sycophants who are following Lew Rockwell over the cliff. Rockwell et al are channeling Murray Rothbard, who wrote a feeble essay contending that it was a brilliant idea to support a populist candidate. Justin Raimondo has caught the same infection. This is the end of the limited respectability the Mises Institute has has earned over the years. It’s a damned cult.
So if you were a slave, would you be the abstaining vote that threw the slaves’ election to the guy who beat them worse? You would condemn the slaves that said you should vote for the less bad guy for “feeble arguments”.?
Too dumb to earn a response. We are all slaves of government.
I note for the audience that you refused to answer the question, the precise illustration Block used in his argument.
I’m still ambivalent on this thing, but the objectors to Block are not addressing this.
Freedom is an enticing idea indeed. Endorsed by the Almighty too.
I’m a fool for Christ. Whose fool are you?
What next, “Anarchists for Trump”? ……nothing makes sense anymore.
Libertarians still exist? I thought they became Republicans who call normal Republicans “Republicans”.
Libertarians still exist? I thought they became Republicans who call normal Republicans “Republicans”.
Who the hell is Walter Block and why does he pretend to understand what it means to be a Libertarian?
There’s this thing called “google”. Here, let me help you:

FYI
If you have to google them then they are not influential.
Historians know different.
