HINT: IT’S NOT GOP FRONTRUNNER DONALD TRUMP OR A BUNCH OF RADICAL PROGRESSIVE PROTESTERS

After what happened in Chicago between supporters of GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump and a rabble of far left agitators, Americans of varying ideological stripes are expressing profound disenchantment with their nation’s political process.

That’s a good thing … they should be upset. But do they know why they should be upset? In predictable politically-correct fashion, we’ve heard a lot of hand-wringing from the liberal mainstream media about Trump’s “angry words” and “divisive rhetoric” – or from the conservative media about the protesters “assault on the First Amendment.”

Look: We don’t disagree that the 2016 election has “jumped the shark.”  It clearly has.  But Trump saying “mean things” and a few hundred losers infiltrating one of his rallies and showing their asses – that’s not what we should be worried about in America right now.

Here is what we should be worried about in America right now …

  • Government’s $19.1 trillion debt and the projected return of $1 trillion annual deficits.
  • The 94 million working-age Americans who are not currently in the labor force.
  • Income levels that are 6.5 percent lower than before the recession – and still shrinking.
  • An economy that hasn’t grown by more than four percent annually since 2000.
  • Soaring health care costs stemming from ongoing attempts to socialize medicine.
  • Entitlement programs projected to begin running multi-billion dollar deficits far sooner than anyone is willing to admit.
  • A $1 trillion-a-year welfare state that incentivizes dependency – and a similarly large bureaucracy that exists to attack productivity and strangle innovation.
  • A secretive central bank that can print and lend billions of dollars indiscriminately with no public oversight or government audit.
  • Crony capitalist trade deals that subsidize the outsourcing of American jobs and the exploding of our trade deficits.
  • Government-run schools that continue to fail future generations of students despite receiving hundreds of billions of dollars in new money each year.
  • Federal law enforcement agencies that want to unlock every iPhone and iPad in America – and the spy state empowering them.
  • Leftist lawmakers at all levels of government who are trying to take your guns.
  • A failed war on drugs that is trampling on liberty, denying medical options to those in need and perpetuating a police state mentality at the local level.
  • “Neoconservative” politicians who demand more global military interventions – creating larger, bolder, angrier militant Islamic enemies.
  • Open borders – and politicians who want to grant amnesty to illegal aliens already in this country.
  • Two indistinguishable political parties that share a monopoly on elections in America – and that joint desire to do nothing to fix the problems outlined above.
  • Corporate-owned media outlets that shamelessly favor the parties and status quo politicians protecting their interests.

Obviously that’s not an exhaustive list.  In fact those are just a few of the items that popped into our heads as we were writing this. We’re sure there’s a lot more wrong with this country that we neglected to mention …

As you head to the ballot box this year, please stop and think: Are the people you’re casting your ballot for (whether it’s for president or some other office) serious about fixing the problems listed above?  Have they offered specific plans to do so?  Do you trust them to follow through on those plans?

And perhaps most importantly: Are they actually offering solutions?  Or are they simply vowing to throw more money we don’t have at the same old problems?

That’s what matters.  The rest? It’s noise.

Yes, America is going to pieces.  But it’s not because some crazy-haired conservative politician and a bunch of kooky liberals ramped up the trash talk at each other in Chicago.  Or because lots of people are legitimately angry about it.

It’s because the “sane” leaders of both parties who have held power in recent years have succeeded in turning a nation that was once the envy of human civilization into a most unenviable – and perhaps impossible – rebuilding job.

What do you think?  Are there any important issues we missed?  Are we downplaying the “importance” of what happened in Chicago?  Post your thoughts in our comments section below …

Fits…………….
1. You or no one else can’t stop automation and globalization in a world-wide based “capitalist” economic system (of which I support….)
2. I’m an old hillbilly who also worked on a big-assed farm when my family moved down here from West -by-God Virginia…one thing is no BS 100% true: more cows = more cow shit…less cows = less cow shit…(the same thing applies to homo sapiens). You being a pampered city-assed boy from Columbia don’t have a clue no matter how much you blog….
3. Odds are you’ve never read “Future Shock” by Alvin Toffler (like all us technical/engineering students had to do back in the mid-70’s). Get away from that damn ipad/what the fuck ever and read the damn book. You’ll learn something and clear some of that Gen X shit from whatever you have left of your brain. Alvin Toffler is a fucking genius and saw all this shit coming 40+ years ago. You read “Future Shock” and you won’t need to list 17 fucking bullet points.
You can whine and blog all you want, odds are that the world you wish for ain’t gonna happen.
Cope and evolve or die.
or you can choose to kiss and make up with “Sanfraud” and maybe he will let you into his “love shack” bunker in Nevada when Armageddon rears it’s ugly head…………

The operative word in you comment is “worked”, so many never have nor never will know the meaning of the word.

I’ve been earning a steady paycheck since 1969 in one form or another and that’s no fucking lie (I’ve got my most recent Social Security table I got in the mail to prove it)
it’s tough world out there and all FITs and others are whining about is their own version of “entitlements”=====Ain’t nobody owe’s you a fucking job that pays decent..but to read FITs and so many others, that’s what it boils down to just the other side of the same coin…..wages are stagnant, shit’s fucked up…….. whine, bitch, whine complain and repeat the process
No real difference between Fits and liberals when you get down to it…again, just the other side of the coin.
It’s that damn simple…….
Face it the late 1950’s/early 1960’s era economic dream is over and it ain’t ever coming back (it got it’s final kick in the ass after the 1973 Yom Kippur War and subsequent “energy” crisis) Every reputable economic expert agrees that the height of real wage earning peaked in 1973.
I was around then, just about went to war with Russia over it and things ain’t never been the same since…….

Wages were rising because the rest of the developed world was destroyed by WW II, we had a baby boom and women were entering the workforce. The baby boom is now leaving the workforce. There are many developed countries now. There is no growth to be had by more women entering the workforce.

Again, my simple premise:
More people = more shit; less people = less shit = deal with it
Ain’t got jack shit to do exclusively with women per se…you got something against the female population or is it you just want them to be baby-poppers?????
Plus as a “boomer’ myself, it is realized that the younger employees can’t do a lot of the jobs we “boomers are good at (especially in the utility & trade industries)
There’s shitloads of jobs out there for engineering and technical fields (not to mention welding, plumbing, etc.) but most of Gen X,Y and millenials can’t adapt to what it takes to do those specialized fields.
I could retire today but my field is in demand so I’m gonna keep working and making damn good money as long as I’m able to.
I count myself very lucky, I’m not flaunting a damn thing. it could all go to shit tomorrow but I’ve had a damn good ride and am very grateful for the opportunities that have come my way.

I remember when I was first starting out, you know the family thing, my father told me there were three things I had to do. Put a roof over their head, feed and clothe them, insure them. I said what about transportation dad, he said walking ain’t crowded son.

Times sure have changed.

Also, never be in debt……….
When you’re in debt you’re somebody’s slave
I guess it’s a hillbilly thing………………

idcydm March 12, 2016 at 11:06 pm

Had to go into debt to buy a house but that’s one of those things you have to do, it’s everything else that’s nice to have that turns you into somebody’s slave.

Rocky Verdad March 13, 2016 at 11:27 pm

Well you’re not really indentured. If you default you can always shit in the foyer on the way our and call it even.

shifty henry March 13, 2016 at 9:17 am

When I go to stores, Walmart in particular because it has the biggest and most crowded parking lot, I park at the end of the line and walk. I do it because it’s the fastest way in and I need the exercise. Other folks (not counting the elderly and those with health problems) will burn gas creeping around from lane to lane waiting for that perfect spot.

Rocky Verdad March 13, 2016 at 11:27 pm

And that, is why you are not a true Trumpista.

shifty henry March 14, 2016 at 12:23 am

Why I continue to shop at Walmart:
—————————–
1.- it’s convenient because It’s around the block and I can get there either walking or using the frontage road
2.- one of the girls working there is letting me convince her that she can seduce me
3. treating the folks who work there that they are appreciated gets me extra services such as opening a register for me when there are long lines // getting items for me when they haven’t been put on the shelves yet // extra coupons and food samples // news about specials or new products that haven’t been stocked yet // and so forth….

‘They go to a job’ —- there was line given by John Wayne in one of his western movies where a guy asked him for a job. I don’t remember Wayne’s entire reply (but one of you may) but it started (with derision in his voice) —“I don’t give jobs ……….”

Looking from my back porch across the road and through the fence to see the pasture occupied by COWS I observed a recent event over the past two weeks. The owner has been moving his hay rack around the pasture and the cows just EAT-EAT-EAT and the cows just SHIT-SHIT-SHIT. Yestrday morning I went across the road with my coffee to hang out with them while the sun rises. Every where that hay rack was set was surrounded by cow flop. That pasture looked like GOD had dropped Hershey’s Kisses from Heaven. But the cows didn’t mind – they just ignored it…..

shifty henry March 13, 2016 at 8:54 am

PS: The wind never sends the aroma my way. Occasionally one of the cows will be by the fence in the morning waiting for me, and if I can get the correct timbre with some moos I’ll get a response, but when I start laughing I lose it. (think you can “moo?” — try it some time)

In this world where sometimes it looks like America has lost its collective mind, your account of morning coffee with bovines is just plain nice. I can just see it…..(I’m sure you have a nice place)
All of us should take the time to smell the roses (or cow pies for that matter).

A worried man with a worried mind

No one in front of me and nothing behind

There’s a woman on my lap and she’s drinking champagne

Got white skin, got assassin’s eyes

I’m looking up into the sapphire tinted skies

I’m well dressed, waiting on the last train

Standing on the gallows with my head in a noose

Any minute now I’m expecting all hell to break loose

People are crazy and times are strange

I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range

I used to care, but things have changed

This place ain’t doing me any good

I’m in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood

Just for a second there I thought I saw something move

Gonna take dancing lessons do the jitterbug rag

Ain’t no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag

Only a fool in here would think he’s got anything to prove

Lotta water under the bridge, lotta other stuff too

Don’t get up gentlemen, I’m only passing through

People are crazy and times are strange

I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range

I used to care, but things have changed

I’ve been walking forty miles of bad road

If the bible is right, the world will explode

I’ve been trying to get as far away from myself as I can

Some things are too hot to touch

The human mind can only stand so much

You can’t win with a losing hand

Feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet

Putting her in a wheel barrow and wheeling her down the street

People are crazy and times are strange

I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range

I used to care, but things have changed

I hurt easy, I just don’t show it

You can hurt someone and not even know it

The next sixty seconds could be like an eternity

Gonna get lowdown, gonna fly high

All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie

I’m love with a woman who don’t even appeal to me

Mr. Jinx and Miss Lucy, they jumped in the lake

I’m not that eager to make a mistake

People are crazy and times are strange

I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range

I used to care, but things have changed
