Anyone who thinks the GOP establishment is going to roll over and allow Donald Trump to seize control of the party without a fight is kidding themselves.
They still have the possibility of changing the rules 1 day before Trump can secure the nomination- from the very rules that were created to stop Ron Paul from creating a potential brokered convention situation back in 2012 ironically.
If the establishment GOP establishment rank and file establish this scorched earth policy and steal the nomination from Trump, it not only will assuredly hand Clinton the election(happily for most establishment GOPers), but it will very likely eventually end the GOP as a viable party IMO…which the establishment won’t see coming.
This is really a fascinating cycle.

The big fear of the GOP is that Trump will inspire many more “outside challengers” to run against the RINO establishment. The GOP elites could lose many more federal and state positions to “outsiders” this fall.

Nearly 20,000 Bay State Democrats have fled the party this winter, with thousands doing so to join the Republican ranks, according to the state’s top elections official.
Secretary of State William Galvin said more than 16,300 Democrats have shed their party affiliation and become independent voters since Jan. 1, while nearly 3,500 more shifted to the MassGOP ahead of tomorrow’s “Super Tuesday” presidential primary.

My morning calls are over, so a few observations.
In Virginia surprising Trump seemed to she long the Establishment in their core VA areas – VB, Richmond. But in some of those same areas – in Norfolk Hillary out performed Trump by huge numbers. Was about a tie in Virginia Beach. Same pattern in Henrico County where she outperformed Trump and Cruz. And of course in northern VA it was a landslide of turnout for Dems. So increasingly, VA is blue. This must be concerning for down ballot House members in VA – chance for the Dems to pick up 2 seats. And VA is a must flip state for the GOP – and it ain’t looking like that will happen.
GA – similar outcomes. In the heavily populated areas around Atlanta and down to Macon, Trump did very poorly, and Clinton outperformed. Not ready to say GA is in play be any means, but if the moderates stay home, it could be close.
What I’m getting at here is if Trump remains the bane of the moderates (Rubio voters, etc) – and they elect not to support Trump, his smaller base cannot overcome in some key areas.
This is just objective look at the numbers. Also, the numbers suggest that if Rubio decides to leave before Florida (which is very likely) – then in the winner take all states coming up, Cruz is going to have a chance to begin closing the rather small gap with Trump. 100 delegates might seem big now, but Cruz wins a few winner take alls like IL, WI, IN and some others, he’s going to catch up pretty quick. Trumps inability in a three way race to take 50% in most contests, means he remains weak.
My guess is this thing could go for a long while, and get a lot nastier and messy. What names will Cruz call Trump? How will Cruz litigate in a debate the upcoming Trump U trials?
Hillary Clinton earned 270,810 votes in the Feb. 27 Democratic Presidential Preference Primary, about 30,000 more than Donald Trump’s 240,882 votes in the Republican PPP.
It was a good night for David Duke and the KKK. Bad night for eunuch Chris Christie. Where the hell was Trump holding his -cough- unifier speech from, some eastern European palace?
