WEARING LIBERALISM ON THEIR BUMPERS …
There’s a race on in the South Carolina Lowcountry to replace fiscally liberal S.C. Rep. Chip Limehouse, who has said he won’t run for another term in 2016.
Of course Limehouse may change his mind … who knows.
Anyway, a crowded field is already vying for this seat – including Russell Guerard, who challenged Limehouse in 2014 and came up just short (42 votes out of more than 3,700 cast).
We’ve always liked Guerard – not necessarily because of who he is, but who he wasn’t (Limehouse). Of course we had to pause recently when one of our Lowcountry sources sent us a pic of a Guerard supporter showing him some love on the bumper of their Honda Fit.
(As if the car itself wasn’t a dead giveaway).
Competing for space with their Guerard sticker on said bumper?
“Stop Sprawl,” “Don’t Drill” and “Sheheen for Governor” bumper stickers … indicating the owner of the vehicle is more likely than not a rabid eco-Democrat.
Sheesh …
The last thing the S.C. General Assembly needs right now is more left-leaning “Republicans.” And while we haven’t been following this race closely enough yet to know where all of the candidates stand on the issues (filing doesn’t even open until next month) – we sure hope Guerard isn’t doing anything to actively court this sort of voter.

Conserving the ecosystem is conservative if you ask me.
Just like conserving our troops would appear to be conservative, but for some reason isn’t embraced by the GOP.
I have no problem people wanting to conserve the ecosystem, as long as they aren’t forcing other people to do so on their private land.
the problem is if you want to dump shit all over your land it does not stay on your land, so you have to force them to stop shitting on every one else’s land
“the problem is if you want to dump shit all over your land it does not stay on your land”
A lot of times shit does stay on your land.
“so you have to force them to stop shitting on every one else’s land”
That’s what lawsuits are for, you don’t need government to do that.
In fact, government doesn’t catch the violators most of the time, which is why you have “superfund sites”.
it does not stay on the land, that is total fucking bullshit, how about put your health where your mouth is and start drinking water out of gill’s creek.
lol, you’re a nut job. Yeah, shit NEVER stays on people’s land then.
Safety-Kleen likes this post.
I saw someone driving a Chevy Volt this morning with a Bernie bumper sticker. That was an interesting irony.
Myself, I’m happy they identify themselves so I know who to avoid.
If you really want to save the planet go live in a cave.
thats just pissed off at the government talking, you know there are other options.
What I know, man can’t control Mother Nature.
Hoover Dam begs to differ.
For awhile it wont last forever, why was the damn built? Is the reservoir going down, is California rationing water.
You say man can’t control mother nature, that’s right to a certain extent that we can’t, but it is obvious that we have great influence over it by our own actions. It isn’t Mother Nature’s fault BP spilled tons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, and concerned people living in a cave wouldn’t have stopped it either.
It’s not to a certain extent, Mother Nature always has been and always will be in control. If mankind does not destroy itself first caves will become the norm again. Species adapt or become extinct, our ever increasing $19 Trillion Dollar Debt will be self induced extinction long before Mother Nature has her way.

Feeling politically down in the dumps?…take a look at the rise of Trump…soon you’ll give grateful thanks when breaking bread
For the bread of course and to God for ALL things…especially knowing that flag-ripping legislators WILL get handed their heads !!!
When I’m not on the bike, I’m in the Fit. Hard to beat the cost/mile on either.
Here is a prediction: drilling for gas/oil in the Atlantic is going to be a major issue kin some coastal Statehouse races this year.
Environmentalism is big in the Lowcountry, even with a lot of Republicans. I don’t see anything wrong with conserving the natural environment. Sounds sorta… conservative.
The Chamber of Commerce crowd is the one you should be worried about. They’re the ones who love spending gov money, and they’re usually the ones telling people that there’s something wrong about caring for the environment.
Probably also supportive of taking private lands for private development via eminent domain.
