This reminds me to start watching some of those WWII training films, including British, again. Most of the ones I’ve seen are very interesting.

I don’t remember the name of the film, but it was for the females joining the Navy and discussed “personal hygiene” — pretty near got me heated up!

This is one of the several things that pisses me off about military posers at all levels. People who never served (totally their right, natch) who claim to have served are the lowest form of of the “stolen valor” set, but folks who served but feel compelled to sex up their tough guy bonafides by exaggerating their combat experience are firmly in second place in my world. If you served turning wrenches at a base in California, say you turned wrenches in California. Don’t ask for a hero’s welcome wen you get home, but there’s no shame in honorable service. If you were a JAG reservist supervising the completion of wills and powers of attorney for the troops actually going to combat, for God’s sake just say that. It surely makes you look like a pussy if you try to puff it up, Sugarbritches.
You can’t have it both ways Will, if “The Gipper” served then so did Miss Lindsey.
In fact, he is classified by the Air Farce as a Gulf War and War on Terrorism Veteran. You may not like it but that doesn’t make it not so. Reagan never left the continental US. Miss Lindsey has served in a war zone in uniform wether you like it or not. Is he the reincarnation of Audie Murphy, not by a damn sight. But you do every veteran who served, but for what ever reason didn’t spend time getting shot at, a disservice to say their service was somehow less honorable. Many in my generation served twenty year careers and never deployed to a combat zone.
Remind me here, which service were YOU in?
I had one cousin who deployed to VIetnam as an intel guy to the SV Embassy, and went through Tet fighting the siege of that building. Another never went to Vietnam and stayed in the States. Guess which one ended up messed up. Hint – it wasn’t the one who fired on the enemy.
SCNG, until I got the opportunity to get out early with an HD. Lucky for me, since my unit later got deployed to CA during Desert Storm. Which I didn’t even know could happen when I joined.
