Policies that now pay some 7 million men between the ages of 25 and 54 to neither work nor look for work — for example, expanded access to food-stamp programs, easy access to Social Security disability benefits and Medicaid for able-bodied men who refuse to work….
That is the REAL economic news and Obama economy.
Here’s an interesting set of numbers.
From 2001 through 2008 each year, the percentage change in people obtaining disability income via SS increased about 5% a year. (4.96% to be exact).
2009 forward – that has been 2.6%, and in fact, 2013 – 2015 the average was 0.31%. A much smaller increase.
In fact, the rate at which benefits were terminated – was a meger 2.66% 2001 through 2008, yet under the current Administration that figure has been 5.5%. Meaning, under the current Administration growth of people on SS disabilty has slowed and the percentage of people on SS disability terminating those payments has increased – making your assertion – wrong!!!! Again!!!!!

One of the greatest generals and statesmen ever, Robert E. Lee, expressly stated that the rebel flag should be furled forever, and never unfurled. Neo-confederate nutcases ignore that, as though he never said it. Calling it a “patriots’ flag” merely displays your obsessive and aggressive ignorance. I honor the service of my own ancestors to the CSA cause, in which they fervently believed. They fought, more than anything else, to protect home and family. That is to be admired and respected. You have made the obsolete banner of a failed cause into your god. Too bad there are many who hold your views who have far too much power in SC.

Yes, “Southern Culture” is real. It has many facets it has many colors, it has many faces. Many of my own ancestors fought bravely for the Confederacy in the Civil War. In a later era, their children and grandchildren were forced to go to sub-standard “colored” schools such as Pine Level Elementary School in the Dimery Indian Settlement, Dog Bluff section of Conway SC.
Members of my paternal family lines moved to NC over this issue, since the “colored” designation in the Jim Crow era would proscribe the earning capacity of their children. They were not “colored”, they were mixed Indian and “white.” But it had been decreed that there were no Indians left that were not on reservations, so officially they were designated as colored.
Soon after, that school and others like it were accepted back into the category of “white” schools. Relatives who stayed behind were increasingly pressured to assimilate into the dominant culture. They did this by marrying the whitest people they could find, and, in some cases, by joining the KKK.
On a visit to one of those cousins’ house, he was invited to join, too. My father said, “Listen here. I just got back from fighting in North Africa and Europe under Patton. I saw the camps. I hate the damned nazis. And I’ll be damned if I’ll join up with people just like ’em back home.”
My father was not real fond of black people, truth be told. But I remember when the Lumbee ran the klan out of Robison County. He was jubilant over that. The spirit that he represents is a strong defiant part of Southern Culture that values doing the right thing, and not going along to get along with crazy racists like you.

Buz, sorry, you are not like your old ancestors you claim to be proud of. Just wait a few days, then a few months, and you will see who free SC voters choose. As always, the proof will be in the pudding. You may not like the taste of it.
