The rumor around the State House is that Toal is worried Few will try to make a name for himself correcting some of the horrible messes she created with her mysterious hires of blindly loyal servants who could hide her corruption and bending the rules. It is going to be an interesting few months ahead in the SC Judiciary.
The conservatives could have had three solid “rule of law” judges (instead of “who my friends are”) on the SCoSC, if they had elected Williams first, then Few – next year when Plecones retires – to go with Kittredge. But no – they had to get hung up on racial politics, favor trading and personal squabbles, and did what was most expedient. Too bad. No leadership.
