I wonder if Jeb is as lukewarm on gun rights as Dubya was. I recall being relieved that Dubya was in office when the abominable Clinton magazine and gun ban’s sunset finally came into view. Dubya said if Congress renewed it, he would sign it. Thankfully, Congress did not renew it, but WTF? Still, after 8 years of Clinton, we were relieved that Dubya wasn’t aggressively supporting it.

Rubio was spot on.Obama would confiscate guns IF he could have found a way of not being impeached:

Australia did not confiscate any guns. There was a buy-back program for certain firearms which was endorsed by 90% of citizens. The almost universally endorsed program was passed into law only 12 days after a mass shooting.

Regardless of the vehicle used to accomplished it, the bottom line is that you are still disarmed. I don’t know if the Aussie government is following the rest of the Western world yet, but if they do, let me know how safe you feel when muzzies are walking around in your towns with guns and you have none, as is now happening in Germany.
Obama isn’t a gun advocate. But confiscate guns? Horseshit. Obama signed the law that lets me carry in National Parks for the first time. And government approval for firearms purchases has vastly speeded up. Bought a tidy .357 the other week and approval took 15 minutes.

Cruz, as he did with most issues last night, actually ended up stealing the limelight from Rubio on this issue as well. Cavuto asked Rubio to cite specific reasons why he thinks Obama would confiscate everyone’s gun if he could – and Rubio hesitated and then said something about Obama holding a press conference every 2 weeks. The next time they got to Cruz he rattled off 5 or 6 specific examples. Like Ann Coulter says – if Rubio can’t give a canned response that he’s practiced in front of mirror a hundred times he’s not too impressive.
What is Ann Coulter doing observing Rubio in front of a mirror? Inquiring minds want to know.

In fact, there’s a good chance Congress won’t pass the Trans Pacific Partnership because of Obama’s bullshit on tobacco carve out in Investor State Dispute Settlement procedures and the weak intellectual property protections for biologics. That Congress may refuse to pass TPP completely undermines the criticism that TPA will automatically result in passage of TPP.

Not a big Trump fan, but he and Rubio won the debate last night. Cruz may have one the episode on the birther topic, but I think Rubio nailed Cruz on being a politically calculating conservative that has not been consistent (even through Cruz claims he is). The more Trump and Cruz go head to head, this allows room for the 3rd and 4th place candidates to inch up in the polls.
