Here’s a tradition we hope to revive in 2016: “Today’s Tuneage.” It’s basically our version of a jukebox, in which we commend songs to the attention of your earbuds.
Today’s “Tuneage?” Adam Levine‘s fantastic cover of the 1984 classic “Purple Rain,” the title track from Prince’s sixth studio album (and his related Academy Award-winning feature film).
“Purple Rain” (the song) went to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 – while the album has sold more than 22 million copies worldwide.
So did Levine (the lead singer of the band Maroon 5 and host of NBC’s “The Voice”) do the song justice?
Um, yes …

Very nice … oh, and a very nice hat tip to our founding editor’s platonic compadre for the recommendation.

Good idea.Music is more important than politics.
If it weren’t for his musical talent Prince would be a resident of Minnesota’s home for the Mentally Insane. Purple Rain was one of the most perfect albums of all time.

I’m in favor of the return of this tradition.
You didn’t mention he played it on Howard Stern’s birthday show-2014
