LIBERAL “REPUBLICANS” RALLY ROUND STATUS QUO CANDIDACY …

Left-leaning “Republicans” gotta stick together … so it was no surprise to see several of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham‘s top South Carolina supporters gravitate toward the presidential campaign of former Florida governor Jeb Bush following Graham’s decision to exit the presidential race.

Chief among them?  Special interest lobbyist David Wilkins – a former Speaker of the S.C. House and George W. Bush’s appointee as U.S. ambassador to Canada.

A big spending crony capitalist, Wilkins presided over the S.C. House during the Palmetto State’s infamous “Lost Decade” – during which time the so-called “social conservative” also carried on a thinly veiled affair with one of his senior staffers.

Now he serves on a totally unconstitutional college governing board – and shills at the State House on behalf of well-heeled insiders.

Wilkins’ decision was no secret. He’d made it clear he was going to endorse Bush the moment Graham dropped out … a pretty compelling indictment of Graham’s candidacy if you ask us.

Joining him?  Veteran “Republican” financier Eddie Floyd of Florence, S.C., former S.C. secretary of commerce Bob Royall and Charleston, S.C. billionaire Anita Zucker – who were Graham’s three South Carolina finance co-chairs.

So: Will these wealthy, well-connected insiders make a difference in the race?

No …

Graham – once polling at 15 percent in his home state – saw his South Carolina support plunge to a measly 1.7 percent at the time of his exit from the race, according to the latest aggregate polling data from Real Clear Politics.  Meanwhile Bush, who was polling at 17.7 percent as recently as March 30 of this year, is currently receiving the support of just 7.3 percent of “First in the South” GOP voters.

Bush’s embarrassing showing comes despite his campaign spending big money on television ads seeking to sway South Carolina voters.

The good news about this flood of Bush endorsements?  It’s another sign that the GOP establishment is still in disarray in the Palmetto State, unsure of whether to get behind Bush or back his former protege and fellow establishment sellout, Marco Rubio.

Let’s hope they remain splintered the closer we get to February 20 …

Will it do as much for Jeb! as it did for Lindsey?

Secretary: “A man just called. He wishes you to tell him the secret of your success in life.”
Candidate: “Is he a journalist -or- or a detective?”

Talk about throwing good money after bad. If they have waited this long, they might as well see how the first half of January goes. If Jeb! can’t turn it around by then, save the dough.

Does this mean that, once again, the majority of David Wilkins’ immediate family, such as HIMSELF, his sorry ass brother, as well as “Little Walt” Wilkins, will be in line for the most plush federal jobs out there?

Without a doubt, this Wilkins crowd has the most egregious sense of entitlement of any family in SC. They make the Kennedys of Massachusetts look reasonable.

I have always been a proponent of utilizing Interstate 74 when completed to Wilmington with a spur down to MB would be a reasonable alternative. This would bring the traffic from Charlotte and northward down to the beach. Then improve East/West routes within SC to handle the regional traffic to the beach. Some of these East/West routes could be limited access, like an interstate highway, to handle the traffic.

What did I tell you, months ago? Lindsey is doing exactly what he promised David he would do, so he could be Vice President. The problem is that it didn’t work. All the money in the world will not staunch the flow of votes away from the man who would be king. Be it a trump or a cruz or a ben or a carly, it will not be a Jeb! or a Democrat.
